You are Apple OS9. You have been pretty much supplanted by your new sister, but you’re still around to help her out, and those who know you remember you fondly. You hate Windows with a burning passion.

is it just me or does OS9's pic remind you of the Ah! My Goddess! movie? you know, in the goddess control room thing?

You are Windows Milennium Edition, sometimes known as Miserable Edition. You’re a complete spaz, and you know it, but somehow your cuteness and good nature have made you the most popular OS tan.

You are Apple OS X. You are beautiful, stable, and a catgirl. It’s no wonder people love you. It's sometimes a little annoying that so many people stick with the obviously inferior Windows, but since you know you’re better, you don't let it bother you much.
Well, that's odd. I haven't used a Mac for almost 6 years. Oh well, this OS-Tan stuff is crazy. I like it!

You are Longhorn, the unreleased new version of Windows. No one knows much about you. You’re very mysterious, but will you ever be released?[/center]

Released? I was never contained.....

I got into these a while ago, but completely forgot about them. It always bugs me how someone somewhere has to go and draw them in ... shall we say... perverted situations.

I first heard of it on IRC a day or two before it was posted here. It seems to have caught on pretty well though.

You are Windows 98. You are the second oldest of the windows girls. You’re neither beloved nor despised, but many people still use you. You also have a box you keep with you at all times, for reasons known only to you.
Considering I run XP in classic mode and all I can see that lol.

What's the significance of 98 keeping the box with her at all times?

Compatibility with older brands.... you know, the box text ones?

Think outside your high-graphic environment, Greg... YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :P

You are Windows 2000 Professional Edition. You are the most stable and reliable of all the Windows girls. Of course, since your main comparison is with ME, that’s not saying much. You’re popular with some, but you’re being replaced with XP. You often help take care of your sister ME.

Funny, I remember three questions with answers referring to 98's box and I never chose any of them.

Greg, I'm surprised you haven't heard of the OS-tans before. They've been around for about a year now. o_O

Although I suppose if you don't frequent any of the *chan imageboards you may not have seen them before.

I am an ostrich. *shrug*

Doing a search through some of those image sites, I actually found a few resin models 2000-tan. Which leads me to wonder... are these purely original creations, or did the japanese internet community sort of choose already defined anime characters to modify? OR, are the japanese just WAY TOO GOOD at modifying resin kits? :)
