Some of you may remember me (maybe 3 years ago). Most of you probably won't.

In case anybody cares, I'm onto my final year of a Digital Media Degree.

I'm not a large forum fan - the majority of them I visit go up in flames one way or another. But I hope that I might offer something of value here.

It's interesting to me that you're going into that field, since I am too, though I have several years to go, still. Nonetheless, it's good to hear that I'm in good company here. Incidentally, do you know where i can get a (legal) copy of 3D Studio Max 7 for cheap? Also, do you have any suggestions that'll make my life easier?

No, sorry. I was taught Maya last year (and have to retake it because I failed - they didn't understand 3D weebl and bob).

Also, do you have any suggestions that'll make my life easier?

Let's see...pay attention, don't hesitate to speak up, take everything with an open mind (very important) and make sure your head of course truly cares about the course. The stories I could tell would turn anybody away, but I honestly think it's an excellent
course. Even though it's still very young (my class will the first graduating class), I hope to come away with the words BDM at the end of my name at the end of this year.

If you want any more advice, just call and I'll see if I can answer it. But the 4 things above brings together experience from 2 years of prior study.
