Anime chicks... hard to say who the hottest is. I've always had a thing for Mihoshi from Tenchi (the one from Tenchi Muyo, the other two versions of her from the spin offs were just a bit too dumb).

Lucy/Nyuu from Elfen Lied or Tiara's demon form from Shamanic Princess.
Or maybe Natsume from Tenjou Tenge.

I just don't understand you guys. Sure, anime babes are "hot", but they're all exactly freaking the same. How could you choose a specific one?

There is where you are wrong. Yes many are similar, but all the same? Certainly not.

Three Types of Anime Females:

1: mild mannered young girl who is afraid of action, but always manages to be able to take care of herself and others.

2: Overly giddy and crazy girl who offers comic relief, annoyance for her compaitriots.

3: Hero girl who's better at just about everything than ANY of her compatriots, including those who rank wise, are above her.

Wow. That is a very ignorant view of anime females.

Well, lets take the anime Azumanga Diaoh for example. It's a show about a group of girls and it follows their entire high school career. Here are the main girls in it.

Osaka: Really stupid, but rather calm girl. Very short not so attractive. No breasts at all really.

Chiyo Chan: Child genius. About 4 years younger than all the other girls, but is also the smartest of all of them. She's very cute and cheery.

Tomo: Stupid flamboyant girl. She's very energetic and always takes charge of every situation, but usually screws it up.

Yomi: Classic nerdy girl. She's very self conscious about her looks. Shes very smart and tries hard in all of her classes. Shes level headed and is usually the voice of reason.

Sakaki: Tall and athletic. She has huge breasts and is admired by all of the other girls. She's very quiet and rarely talks. However she loves cute things, especially cats, but doesn't want to admit it.

Kagura: Sporty athletic girl who sees Sakaki as her rival (though it's one sided). She's kinda dumb, but tries hard.

Kaorin: Cheery girl who has a crush on Sakaki. Many lesbian references made, though she never admits it.

Osaka: Really stupid, but rather calm girl. Very short not so attractive. No breasts at all really.

#2. Annoying girl, minus the giddy.
Chiyo Chan: Child genius. About 4 years younger than all the other girls, but is also the smartest of all of them. She's very cute and cheery.

#3. Better than all her compatriots. Even those above her.
Tomo: Stupid flamboyant girl. She's very energetic and always takes charge of every situation, but usually screws it up.

#2 exactly.
Yomi: Classic nerdy girl. She's very self conscious about her looks. Shes very smart and tries hard in all of her classes. Shes level headed and is usually the voice of reason.

#1 exactly.

ETC

Counter examples. COUNTER.

What I gave you was their descriptions in a nutshell. You're completely wrong. The only character from that show that fits into your descriptions from above is Tomo.

But I can continue. Sakura from Naruto. She's not very mild mannered, and she is not afraid of action at all. She does hold her own when she has to. So much for #1. She is not giddy and annoying. She often is the voice of reason among her group. Not #2. Is she the best at what she does? Heck no. In terms of fighting ability she's the weakest in her squad. She is the smartest, but still is always in the shadows of her compatriots. There goes #3. Yes she is still the main female character in the show and has a huge part in how the plot and other characters develop.

Hawkeye from Full Metal Alchemist is a military marksman. She's not afraid of action and is no way mild mannered, she's not giddy and annoying, and she is not a hero girl who dominates over everyone else. Bam bam bam. None of your descriptions fit her.

And then there is Guu from Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu... Well I wont even get into Guu... But I assure you she certainly doesn't fit any of the categories you named. Not even close.

I can go on and on proving you wrong.

So what you're saying is that with an intimate knowledge of a very broad topic you can successfully prove that not EVERY anime girl fits those stereotypes? Because I think the point was that the creativity in pop anime, especially regarding female characters, leaves a bit to be desired. I agree.

Well he is right that many anime females do fit into those categories, but he said there are only three types, which is quite wrong.

Seriously though, with how broad your descriptions are you could make these kind of generalities for anything, not just anime. Movies, sitcoms, video games, you name it.
