I'm only 17, but I know this much:

No matter how horrible your day was, it never turns out too horrible if you have a loving companion to talk to at some point.

As for "we've all learned nothing" - bull and fucking shit! We've learned PLENTY, it just looks like inisigifance jsut short of nothing compared to what we don't know, but it's still plenty.

Hm.

How can you be sure we've learned anything at all? What makes you sure that everything any of us has ever known is actually true? Never assume that what you know is true, as there is always the chance that it isn't true. We know nothing for certain, which makes us incapable of learning anything.

Well I know that if I sock you in the jaw it'll at least hurt my hand, and probably your face ...

EDIT: ... also, Arc, look up the definitions for "learn", and "know", and notice that they're not the same...

Thank you, Descarte.

The most important thing you can do is sort out your priorities and tackle them with everything you have. No one got anywhere by hiding their talents.

How do you know that for sure? What's to say that just once, you could smash your fist into my jaw, and feel nothing? What's to say we even exist, except as some part of something too great to comprehend?

You know by learning. If one cannot know anything for certain, learning it becomes impossible. Therefore, we cannot learn.

Most people are a waste of mind.

If something is important, someone will lose it. If it is vitally important, someone will not only lose it, but put it somewhere so hard to find that it never shows up again. Then refuse to pay for a replacement.

Some important things to learn

1. Knowing how much you don't know.

2. Knowing why you know what you do know.

3. How to reason.

Arc, you're assuming we don't know anything to begin with. How do you sustantiate that? How do I know for certain that I exist? I'm interacting with people, so I have to exist. If I didn't exist, I couldn't interact.

Also, We've learned a lot. We've learned that 1+1=2. We've learned that by combining words in the correct order, we can convey meaning, we've learned a lot. Not everything we've learned is true (Earth is flat, force=mass*accelleration, etc), but that doesn't mean we haven't learned anything. I've learned that I don't like the taste of celery.
Power. Wisdom. Courage.

There is more to life then parties and being selfish... they won't make you truly happy.
