Deacon, the fact that I couldn't give you my exact source was stated quite clearly. I just happened to mention that it was also published in the newspaper, which no, I don't trust at all times, but generally do trust more than online sources unless we're talking about sites like indymedia, which I trust a bit more. Generally, everyone is biased, and so it's hard to piece together accurate information that can be trusted.

But regardless of whether you want to believe me as a source on the news bit or not, the fact remains that I believe we should be more focused on issues abroad such as war rather than focusing in on one case. It seems odd to me that we'd chose to work with Shiavo, when similiar cases are happening all around america, all the time.

Furthermore, it's not my decision in cases like that whether the person lives or not. Like I said, I would be ashamed to judge when I don't know all of the details of the situation. If I was asked to make a clear statement on that, I'd want to see her medical records up close before I said anything, because that's the only way I could even concieve being close to a fair judge.

My point also stands about Bush holding a hidden hand presidency similar to that of Nixon. I fear for something similar to Watergate happening while we're focused on issues like Shiavo. Yes, her life is important, but the question I'm asking is, why now, why so big, and why not all of the other people who are dying in the same fashion?

Martin Blank, you're statement is well founded, and yes millions was an exaggeration...I'm just constantly worked up about what I view as another bout of Manifest Destiny in this country, my apologies.

lethargicmiaou, it's not really the media's fault media coverage is so focused on stuff like Schiavo, or Arubagirl, rather than signifigant issues on a scale that effect millions or billions of people ... I think the blame rests a bit more than 50% on the Average Dumbass American, really, who creates the market for the Modern Major Media (and who does not have information economic, legal, and political...).

(Meanwhile, if you want a Watergate for the Bush Administration, I'd point to the Downing Street Memo...)

*nods in agreement* oh yes, I agree with you entirely. I just think there's blame on all factors. But yes, at the bass of it all we have ADA to blame. ^.^

(and thank you, although I wouldn't note that upright. I feel there are a lot of Watergate-like instances in Bush's presidency. However, I fear that noting those that I find to fit the description may inflame the discussion to something unneccesary, and so I choose to leave it at that what it is currently)

You amuse me greatly, you know...
and so would the media, if it weren't all at least posing as real life. *muttering*

In general, you've probably figured out that I'm a bit peeved with a good deal of all of the mass systems in america. The majority, the media, and the administration. (goodness, that's nearly aliteration, how delightful)
