So I have started reading this book. I have had to hide all the tape measures in the house. I have had nightmares. I have sat curled up at work practically shaking because of this book. I suggest you all read it.

The book is House of Leaves, by Mark Z. Danielewski [brother of the lead singer of Poe]...or by a man named Zampano'. It is his first book....and one hell of a psychological thriller. I...do not want to spoil this book for you all, but I will say this. It is about a house that is bigger on the inside than the outside, and about fear...and about myths. You will start reading, and be unable to put it down. You will underline phrases, and repeat them in your head over and over. You will read, and reread, and re-reread, study and analyze, learn new words and new uses for old ones.

This book has taken over for me.

I suggest all of you get a copy of House of Leaves.

Wasn't there a website based on this? I cant remember the link, but I think I Applegeeks.com linked it. I think it started off as like a live journal of a guy who had a buddy that started to send him letters, out of the blue, talking about how a friend of theirs went nuts and killed an old couple and then himself. They then continue on try to trace the guy who killed himself's steps and why he went nuts.

I read it a couple of years ago. I liked it a lot, but didn't find it scared me on a personal level. Cool book.

Someday I should probably give Jez back her copy.
