!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you listen to yourself ?!
Adolf Hitler publishes Mein Kampf which contains statements such as, "Those who are physically and mentally unhealthy and unworthy must not perpetuate their suffering in the body of their children." In this book, Hitler praises the American Immigration Restriction Act of 1924.
14 July, 1933 Hitler puts into law the Nazi Act for Averting Descendants Afflicted with Hereditary Disease, which is based on H. H. Laughlin's US Model Eugenical Sterilization Law of 1922. Laughin receives an honorary degree from a German University (major Nazi research center on race purification) for his contribution to eugenics. Some figures of people who were slated to be surgically sterilized:

Congenital feeblemindedness: 200,000
Schizophrenia: 80,000
Manic depressive: 20,000
Epilepsy: 60,000
Hereditary blindness: 4,000
Hereditary deafness: 16,000
Grave bodily malformation: 20,000
Hereditary alcoholism: 10,000

Fritz Lenz suggests sterilizing people with only slight symptoms of "mental disease," which at that time included about 20% of the German population (about 20,000,000 people). Martin Borman instructs in a directive that the person's moral and political behavior be taken into account when determining whether sterilization should take place. Estimate of people eventually sterilized under this law: approximately 375,000.

It's wrong to fund them in all men?

No, look again. I said it's wrong to fund them only in fat men.

Quadriplegia is genetic now?

You know nothing about genetics, Lis'. It goes boy, girl, boy, girl.

Edit: Oh wait, I missed this part:
it might actually make sense to eliminate some people from the gene pool or out right
You want to bump people off because you judge them to be "less useful" than you? I'd LOVE to see your list of criteria for "usefulness". Maybe less people would claim unemployment if we gave them an ultimatum:
Dear Joe Bloggs,

Re: GET A JOB OR DIE!

Our records show that you have been unemployed for a period of three months.

In accordance with new legislation, any person who is unemployed for a period of three months or more is considered a drain on the economy and humanity in general. Such a person is deemed "useless" to society.

Pursuant to s.27 of the Gene Pool Cleansing Act 2005, you must secure employment within 30 days of the date of this letter, or your life will be terminated.

Yours faithfully

Also, as for Eugenics ... I think people like Mr. Evil give the concept a worse name than the Nazis ever did, because it's easier to point out the fallacy that is Guilt By Association, rather than Idiot By Association. :)

I would wish cancer upon you, but that would make me a hypocrite.

Please go about your daily life as normal. I'm sure that'll off you soon enough.

The day somebody thinks they're intelligent enough to decide that some people don't deserve to live simply for who they are is the day that person fails humanity.
And the person who doesnt see that some people only drag humanity is a person who lives in a dream
Do they drag humanity? What of the mentally retarded that are hard working members of society and who do far more for the well being of others than the arrogant pricks like you? They are, in your words, "retards" aren't they?
If you were to go to any place where there are mentaliy handicapped people working there you would see that they arethe hardest working of the bunch and the most eagar to please. often times to the point that I am ashamed of the "normal" people that they work with simply because of the arrogant attitude that "we" have to doing that kind of service work. The "retards" not only put a lot of hard work into their jobs they also take great pride in the fact that they are serving others. As some one who plans to go into the military I have the utmost of respect for ALL people who try and serve their fellow men and women, with pride, in ANY capacity, even if it is the kid behind the register at the local Mc'D's. And further more it offends me when people are arrogant enough to say that people like that take more away from society than they give back.
i don't hate everyone equally, there are levels. but none of them are the traditionally thought of standards for predjudice. its not based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation its based on how much the person annoys me personally. i count you as a friend since you annoy me very little. brittney spears is an enemy because even though i don't know her/care about her at all she still finds a way to annoy me every time i turn on the tv

You MUST be kidding, aren't you?

That'd be the government recognizing some people as unfit to reproduce, and also, intense discrimination. If the government pays for one man's vasectomy, and they won't for mine, just because I weigh less, that's discrimination of the worst sort! No better than skin color.

I think it would have greatly helped their arguments if all fat men were retards, lowlifes of society. "Unfortunately", they are not.

Wait, so because I'm fat my genes are unfit? How the fuck is fat genetic? My father is a skinny bastard, I just eat too much.

Blaze, maybe they should perform vasectomies for women, too?

...Because skin color really, medically makes you demonstratably unhealthy ... doesn't it?

Phong - you know how some people have a tendency towards obesity, even if their not lazy, like how some people have ridiculous metabolisms where they can eat like a trailer trash hippo and be almost as skinny as a concentration camp survivor?

Yep. Genetic proclivity.

(though, Deacon, I think you have a point - they should tube-tie women who want it, too - realize, too, Blaze, this is still strictly voluntary, no one is being forced into it)

It's called tube tying, and yes, they should offer it.
...Because skin color really, medically makes you demonstratably unhealthy ... doesn't it?

And since when should being "unhealthy" be a marker for limiting one's ability to reproduce? We don't tell mentally handicapped people they not to have kids, and they're almost CERTIAN to be deficient. If we only offer it for fat people, or people with ANY kind of medical ailment, we're discriminating against every other person.

Realize, also, no one's telling them they can't raise kids (which I'd like to think is the more important of the two, as it's the part that has the chance to pass on the REALLY important parts of who you are, but that's another discussion, no?), only that they're encouraged slightly to not breed. To help remove a demonstratably harmful - not just inferior, but harmful! - strain out of the gene pool.

What if they did the same for, say, propencities towards heart disease or cancer?

(though, that would make me wonder, if such options were presented and participated in in earnest, what would that do to the biodiversity of humanity? Genetic homogenity is bad, but does that mean we need to keep so many obvious flaws?)

Posted Wed Mar 30, 2005 11:42 am:

Blaze - They're not FORCING it on anyone.

Furthermore, they're not offering it to everyone (though, really, I think it might be nifty if they would...) because there's no eugenical (er, what IS the proper word, there?) reason to discourage healthy genetic stock from breeding.
