[Golf] Simply Awsome...

Post by Blaze » Tue Apr 12, 2005 6:26 pm

I don't know how many of you watch or play golf, or even if you can appreciate it. But even if generally you don't enjoy golf, you've got to appreciate how awsome this is.

Tiger Woods, leading by 1 stroke, final round, 2005 masters. Approaching the green, par 3. First shot, he over-drives the green, ends up in the far side on what they call the "second cut". More or less impossible for him to even end up inside of DiMarco's ball (his oponent, 1 stroke back), much less make this thing. Everybody agrees.

Woods... well, he does what only a now 4 times Master's champion can do.

Simply awsome.

(Edit: If a mod cares to move this to Eat Pie, they can. I figured it's more of a discussion of the awsomeness of the shot than of Golf itself.)

:-D

What I know about golf can be summed up in one phrase I read somewhere:

"If it wasn't for sports, Golf would just be another walk in the park."

Golf... hmmmm... I keep thinking I should learn to play again... it's been years since I last held a golf club... but then I figure it'll still be as boring now as it was then... and that makes me sad because I feel like I'll never be a proper adult... I don't like golf, I don't like coffee, heck, I don't even like pickles (don't ask why I attribute that to being adult).

Anyway...

I didn't watch the video... but if you say it's amazing, I'll believe you ~smiles~

Golf is ok, but I really like Disc Golf. I find it more fun to play and the courses are generally nicer and it is way cheaper. I got turned on to it by my hippie friend and have been addicted ever since. It is a great way to get a little exercise and go for a walk in a beautiful park.

I was actually more impressed by the guy who put the ball in the hole in one shot in that hole.
But still, good effort by Woods.

Actually, a hole in 1 on that hole is pretty common. Anywhere between two or three a year. It's when they put it in the WRONG place off the tee and still get it done, that takes skill.

I love how it just STOPS... and then goes in anyway.

That's awesome, and I've never played a round of golf in my life.

I second what Deacon said. I knew he won, I just didn't know it was with a sweet shot like that.

Deacon, I love you for that.

And for some reason it won't play for me, but I'll just trust y'all that it was an awesome shot
