I would feel more comfortable with getting my own room. The prices at the Fairfield Inn are not too bad.

...Those are queen size beds, Martin, that you're suggesting 3 people could fit on? 3 people who don't really know each other? Heh, I sleep on a queen bed, and I take up damn near the whole thing. I can't imagine sharing a bed with more than one other person, and even that one would be uncomfortable. Perhaps you're being a little overzealous with your estimated use of the bed space?

Beds are going to be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Martin and I will be taking one of them (probably the one in the loft area) and you guys can duke it out over who gets to take the other two. If our air mattress is still working, that's another queen sized bed to use. Otherwise its sleeping bag time!

Well, really, I'm not paying for a suite to end up in a sleeping bag, and I would assume others would feel the same, especially if they coordinate with others to wait a while longer at airports and such to organize rides and carpools. How much more expensive would it be to get three rooms instead of two, which for 15 to 20 people would be much less cramped?

It's another $360 or so for another suite for two nights. I'll throw that on the list of possible charges.

There are also several couples coming along, and generally girls don't mind doubling up when sleeping. There's also no requirement that you get down to your skivvies before climbing into bed. If you want your own room, that's fine. If everyone wants their own room, that's cool, and the price is that much lower, though I then need to come up with something else for the meeting space.

As to the question on payments, PayPal or money order is fine. If it's going to be a check, I prefer it be a cashier's check. Money orders are much cheaper, though.

Deacon, should I move you up to the confirmed list?

Ok...I can do that...Do we use the link on the donations to the forum line (I'm assuming you're the WM for the forums) or do we use the paypal link on the comic page?

Yeah, with 15 people, that's an additional $24 per person and down to $18 more if we get 20 people. Surely that won't break anyone, especially since it'd mean more elbow room for sleeping and probably everyone with a bed.

Sure, go ahead. I'll let you know for sure early next week (Monday or Tuesday). I'm waiting to see what's happening at work with the new compensation plan I proposed before I say for sure that I'm coming, though I'm about 98% confirmed

We had thought of the suite as more of a party place, rather than a sleeping place. It has a kitchen, sofas, televisions...ect. Perhaps that room could be for Jez, Martin, Greg, ImCrazy, and me. Then we could have a smaller room (or two) at the Fairfield Inn for others.

What about bathrooms? More than 4 people per bathroom would make things less than comfortable.

Liz's suggestion sounds good, if we end up with that many people looking for hotel room space.

Work (User Acceptance Testing Angst!) combined with the fact that I will be out of town on the previous weekend (The Motherland of Pittsburgh PA) complicates matters for me. I won't be able to escape occupied Chicago until late on Friday.

Plus, I don't know if I can handle seeing so many of you people in one place at one time. It might actually drive me mad.

Promote me to probable. I will most likely take care of my own lodging arrangements.
