This is what you see when you first walk in. Well, not entirely. Martin probably wont be checking the internet connection everytime you walk in but who knows.[/quote]

Yes he will, and you know it :P

I want to make sure I'm clear on the pricing of things:

I can be with the ten people staying the suite who pay $24 each, and sleep in a sleeping bag – for that price, fine by me. (2 bathrooms yay)
Or, I can get a AAA-discounted room in the same hotel all to myself for $94, and sleep in a big king size bed.
Or, I can split that room with 2 other people, and pay about $32. (Bed guaranteed)

MB, you were planning on charging the same amount to people who sleep in a different place than the suite for the suite? The last two numbers would be $118 and $56.

I think you guys keep forgetting that you are paying for Greg and I to get down there, and a place for US to stay. Martin is trying to make this as cheap as possible for everyone.

Now if you want, Greg and I don't have to go. Martin and Jez can stay at their apartment and sleep in their own bed and the rest of you guys can figure out everything on your own. Personally, that suite looks awesome. That looks like the ideal place to spend a weekend partying with everyone!

Also, I guess that Greg and I can sleep on the floor. Since we aren't paying for us to go, I guess that there isn't any reason why we should have a bed. So that puts two others in a bed if they want it. Its not my dream sleeping arrangement, but I'm not so low that I can't sleep on the floor.

Mostly I think some of you are being whiney. We are all still fairly young people, but you are acting as if you are old and don't want to have one of those college-type parties that many people in our age group have on a daily basis!

Martin went through all of the work of going down to the hotel and actually touring through the room! He is putting alot of time and energy in this thing, and you guys keep crapping out on him. If you stay in another hotel, the price is going to be higher for everyone. You will have to pay for your hotel room, plus our (Greg's and mine) share of the hotel room (which will be larger because you won't be staying in the hotel room to bring the price down).

Now do whatever you like. Its not going to matter to me either way. I would love to see/meet all of you guys, but if the price is too much for us to go then I would rather that everyone go have a good time without us. :D

Ok, so reply in this thread with 2 things:

A) Confirmed attendance/Not confirmed (No one really wants to read about people who aren't going because thats a good majority of the forum, so don't bother replying with not going.)

B) Staying in suite/ Not staying in suite

It's good to know we'll be protected while we're there.

That's out of the question.

It does indeed! Especially with that fridge, there, as it can contain all manner of beverages.
No, see, even if we were to allow that to happen, that's still only two people, which is not a significant impact on the whole thing. I'm still waiting for MB to come back on my idea of getting an extra suite, since we've got enough people to warrant it and to make the price increase insignificant.
Mostly I think some of you are being whiney. We are all still fairly young people, but you are acting as if you are old and don't want to have one of those college-type parties that many people in our age group have on a daily basis!
Heh, you're funny. And no, I don't think anyone's saying that. I think the point is that Friday night will most likely be spent doing things other than drinking and carousing and such, as nobody wants to go to Six Flags with a hangover, so Friday night will most likely not be spent wherever you happen to pass out :P Saturday night, maybe, but I dunno. Like I said, one more suite will make things all of a sudden tremendously more comfortable, and all for a low, low price of $18 per person.
Martin went through all of the work of going down to the hotel and actually touring through the room! He is putting alot of time and energy in this thing, and you guys keep crapping out on him.
Come, now. Be reasonable. I don't think anyone's crapping out on him. I think we're trying to help him arrive at a set of circumstances in which everyone is happy (enough) :)
A) Confirmed attendance/Not confirmed
I'm comfirmed-as-can-be-without-having-actually-bought-the-tickets-and-such-yet.
B) Staying in suite/ Not staying in suite
Oh, I'm definitely staying either way.

If we get multiple suites, they cannot be truly next to each other, as the suites are actually at the opposite ends of each building. However, it may be possible to get them facing each other (I'll know more on Monday when I can speak with the sales manager), which will be good since the place is a bit of a maze.

Final clarification on this point:

There will be one price, and one price only. Which price depends on how many people and how many suites are involved. It looks fairly certain that we will have at least 20 people involved, so at that rate, here's the breakdown of what you get for that:
  • $22 - Admittance to Magic Mountain
  • $ 7 - Food voucher for lunch that day
  • $20 - Transportation for Greg and Liz (which means you get to meet them, guaranteed)
  • $54 - Lodging and/or party space for both nights
The last number is for three suites. For two suites, it's $36. For one, it's $18, but there's really not much room for anything that way, particularly if there are that many people involved, and as such I think two is probably the minimum that we want. The downstairs TVs at least have coax connectors that don't seem to be secured, so there could be one or two suites that provide(s) video games and/or movies, and one suite that is for more quiet activities like Illuminati and poker (until someone pulls out a fifth ace and gets shot). The Fairfield Inn next door has basic rates of $69-$79 per night, and the Residence Inn itself has studio rooms at $99 (plus taxes in both cases).

So anyway, yes, please post here whether you're going and whether you would like to sleep in one of the suites. Your answer was a bit unclear, Deacon, so please drop in a clarification.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

See, now that sounds like a winning plan to me (minus the typo, at least). Room for everyone to sleep, bathe, etc, while still being reasonably priced and all that.

As far as my clarification, I assume you're referring to my "confirmation" in which case I'm saying that yes, I have every intention of going, but that I haven't comitted so far as to actually purchase the tickets and make the rental car reservation final. I will be doing that early next week, most likely, upon clarification from my superiors regarding what's happening to my paycheck (nowhere to go but up, really, so it should be good news all around ;)).

No, I meant whether you're getting your own room. You said you were staying either way, so for all I know you're planning on sleeping in a nearby riverbed.

Alright, I've got no problem with sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag (lemme get mine cleaned first though, it's been through a few backpacking trips and doesn't smell all that great :shifty: )
I won't have too much trouble ponying up the money for that..
(Just gotta let the boss know I'm going to be sick that day :P )
I really need a new sig....

Martin Blank, I definitely plan on staying IN a suite, not getting my own room.

I guessed I missed people complaining about the price, but yeah, that’s the point I was trying to make. I’m *very* impressed by the prices I’d be paying for this trip. ‘Specially since I don’t mind sleeping on the floor. (Just to make it absolutely clear, MB, if I go I’ll be looking for a spot in the suite.)

Are we really going to need 3 suites? Since a lot of people haven't spoken up yet there might be enough people who don’t care if they sleep on the floor or not… to me it’s a toss up whether a bed (instead of a sleeping bag) is worth $18. Just 2 suites is slightly cramped, I agree, but not horrible either.... boarderline.

That's a hint for people to speak up, btw. :P

I just realized something: June 19th is Father's Day. Just thought I would state that in case it poses complications for anyone.

Nah, that shouldn't be a problem. I'd love to see Accer and Sneaky added to the confirmed list, though ;)

Hopefully everyone who cares has a good enough relationship with thier father that he'll understand if they take care of things early or late.
