I'm not sure I understood what you just said, there, SevTiZ. What's this about comitties and such? It sounds like you're saying that Christ's teachings (as well as those of Paul, etc) were terribly misrepresented by his apostles in the New Testament, so Jesus had to come back 18 or so centuries later and start over again in a whole new direction...

I think he was snarking at calling Mormonism a cult as too easily writing off whatever that guy's name was that was their first cultist.

From my understanding the Nazi's were very much religious, not sure which Christian denomination they were, but they were. (linkage)
as far as Morons go. Aren't they the ones that developed from some guy supposedly finding some tablets or something burried in Upstate New York?

That guy was Joseph Smith. According to him, some angel called Moroni gave him what are called "Golden Plates," which included records of some tribes that had wandered from the Holy Land to America around 600 B.C. Brigham Young University uses a whole ton of archaeologists to try and prove these tribes existed and came to America.

And the first vote came with no winner (gee, what a surprise...I say it will take 3 votes)IMHO, I wouldn't be surprised if an Italian pope came out of this.
Seeing as there have only been two non-Italian popes in the last 500 years or so, I would have to agree with you on that one. John Paul II was the first non-Italian in 475 years or something, on top of that, a HUGE majority of the Cardinals are Italians.
As for Mormonism, Joseph Smith was up in some forest in Upstate New York (had to have been during the summer, he would have frozen to death any other time) and had a vision/visit from an Arch Angel. It's never said why Joseph Smith was in the forest, I've never heard anyone say how long he was in the forest before having this vision/visit, like any religion there are a few circumstances surrounding its creation that unfortunately no one can prove.
Now was it Joseph Smith or Brigham Young that had the 84 wives?

Heh, let's not fight about it. It was just a friendly dig. I've always had issues with decisions by committee in such situations, a system with which I'm quite familiar, having grown up in my formative years in Baptist churches, my father being a Music (usually And Youth) Director in many such churches.
