How many of you are there?

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

How many of you are there?

Post by KaymeeraUnleashed » Tue Apr 19, 2005 8:06 am

You've probably noticed how every once in a while Greg mentions that there's "so many of" us, usually relating it to the various server crashes and the new diluted webpage.

Looking at the main page, you find out that there's 6514 members, and counting, but not everyone who visits the site is in the forums...

So, out of curiousity, how many unique IPs have visited RL, since day 1? How many visit daily? Is there a stats page somewhere?

I'd imagine it is less than Penny Arcade's, though... 500,000 unique IPs in a day? That's insane. Mike and Jerry could form an army if they wanted to.

*remembers what happened when Penny Arcade said to boycott American Greetings*

I'm actually curious how many reader's Greg gets, too. I'm guessing more since the Grind started.

this question pops up every 8 months or so. I can't remember the number and I'm sure it's gone up since the last time, but i think it was around 250,000

That's the strip that was taken down because of American Greetings.

here was the petition (not started by PA, started by a random person) to boycott American Greetings
http://www.petitiononline.com/agcbyctt/petition.html
as you can see, about 20000 people signed it. But WAY more must have actually done it...

((god, it took forever to find this because of lack of ability to search for news posts))
Don’t fuck with Penny Arcade.

American Greetings Profits Dip 55.7 Pct.

CLEVELAND (AP) American Greetings Corp., hurt by lower sales and pretax items, reported a 55.7 percent drop in earnings for the first quarter that ended May 31.

-Gabe out
That's from http://www.penny-arcade.com/news.php3?date=2003-06-25

That means it was less than 3 months later. That's awesome.

edit: Y'know, I was just comparing the dates... and if the first quarter ended before AG asked PA to take down the strip, I guess it's reasonable to assume PA had nothing to do with it. How disappointing. I wonder if Gabe actually knew that.

And today, I became a member of the RL community. All that's left is the initial hazing, threats, and beatings.

However, I felt it was just that important to post this. It did take me a while of finding; but I have found censored strip.

(note: contains explicit Penny Arcadian images)
