"Corruption of the youth"

Post by Nukinblackmage » Wed Apr 27, 2005 1:36 am

What the hell is up with that? Seriously. Let us take a look here at the definition of "corrupt"

from Dicitionary.com:

1. Marked by immorality and perversion; depraved.
2. Venal; dishonest: a corrupt mayor.
3. Containing errors or alterations, as a text: a corrupt translation.
4. Archaic. Tainted; putrid.

1. To destroy or subvert the honesty or integrity of.
2. To ruin morally; pervert.
3. To taint; contaminate.
4. To cause to become rotten; spoil.
5. To change the original form of (a text, for example).
6. Computer Science. To damage (data) in a file or on a disk.

hm...to ruin morally; pervert. I'm not sure about you, but last time I checked, lusting after the other sex is perfectly acceptable. But fetishes doesn't make you a pervert. It makes you unique. In no way does pornography contaminate, morally ruin, spoil, or taint a person. If anything it makes them a healthy human being. Show me a person who doesn't like watching a woman take it from behind from a man and I'll show you a prude.

And what about swearing? The only other thing I can think of that people say "corrupts the youth of America". What the fuck is wrong with some goddamned swearing for christs sake? And what about this bullshit that swearing lowers your vocabulary? I defy you to find a better word than "fuck" that expresses all your pent up anger and frustration about something.

To me, this is less of a moral thing and more of a puritan thing. And you know what? You're just being like all the goddamned people I hate. You're forcing your religion down the nations throat by hiding it behind a cause that everyone will rally behind, because who wants to hurt the children? You can take your puritanic religion and shove it up your pornography hating assholes you cumrags.

Does pornography -- and I mean good, high quality pornography that's just between a man and a woman, none of that freaky shit that involves S&M, threeways, animals, etc -- corrupt a child? Expose them to the most natural act in the world...maybe. Corrupt? No. In no way does watching a woman getting rammed by a man ruin your moral fiber. And what about swearing? Again, it's exposure. If you, as a parent, don't expose your children to it, then society will in a very very VERY short manner. Would you rather explain to your child what swearing is and when it is and is not acceptable to use it, or would you rather your child listen to society say it everywhere and assume that it's perfectly acceptable to use it anywhere?

So, I guess all I'm saying is to stop trying to force society to sit down and shut up and stop censoring us because eventually children will discover what you've been trying to hard to hide from them for many years.

Soooo... what, you just use your imagination? :|

Aaaaanyway, I suppose you're right. Society, primarily fueled by an intrinsic religious agenda, has most certainly veiled sexuality in shame. Hell, back in the "elder" days, before Christianity became a major world religion, sex was considered a perfectly natural, in fact sacred act.

I may be parroting what Dan Brown penned, but I do quite sincerely believe that the church did all this in an attempt to erase the feminine half of divinity, mostly by denegrating, distorting, and altering the meanings of the symbols pertaining to it. By tainting sexuality and the sacred feminine, they were able to cement their religious domination by creating a dogma that urged its followers toward fanatical dedication.

Ah... to return to the good old B.C. days...

Freud was a weirdo. And you gotta admit, our generation (OK, I'm being generous in including you, there, youngin, but hey) seems to be getting progressively worse every iteration, especially in the US.

Well, the lines between public sexual displays and private sexual displays are blurring and that's what is making many people uncomfortable (including myself in specific cases).

I don't mind a porn shop on the corner, provided they don't have explicit images in the view of minors who will ask their folks questions prior to said folks wanting to discuss the matter with them. I don't mind couples kissing in the park, although I will admit to looking funny at homosexual couples kissing in public because it's a new occurance and an oddity. I don't even mind prostitution, provided that the participants are properly regulated for health and safety reasons.

One thing I *do* mind are people actively disrobing or engaging in sexual acts in public. Nudity is ok, overt sexuality in full view of the public is not. Frankly, some things belong at home. If they want to dress in skintight rubber suits at home and douse their walls in baby oil and then mosh til they drop, more power to them. As long as I don't have to watch what I don't want to see, it doesn't really matter to me.

Another thing I mind is adults who take advantage of the nature of children to want to please adults. This is their survival instinct and they cannot control it. Some adults believe that 'pleasing adults' should be taken to sexual relations in addition to obedience and conformity. Such a belief is taking advantage of a child's moldable nature and genuinely naive nature in sexual matters. All the child knows in such instances are that the adult wants them to do something and, if they do it, the adult will be happy and they will be rewarded with loving attention. Unless the child is exceptionally rare and far more mature for their age (which occurs, but is not common), the adult is taking advantage of the child and that is why such laws exist to protect children. It isn't because there aren't exceptions, it is because children need to be protected from those who would prey upon their innocent nature to get what the adult wants.

I don't care who's right, who's wrong, or what you meant to say. Only thing I care about is the Truth. If you have it, good, share it. If not, find it. If you want to argue, do it with someone else.

MTV ownes Nick, and they can both be nuked off the planet for what it's worth.

And Freud was a nut, he had a few good ideas, but I think in general... just a nut. (damnit, now I have the almond joys got nuts, Mounds don't song in my head)

And as far as the religious Reich goes, not a fan, but you'll have to deal with them, so figure out how you plan on doing so.

The thing about Freud that makes me giggle are the phases he came up with for childhood:

1. Oral
2. Anal
3. Phallic
4. nothing (BIIIG long stretch of nothing)
5. Another genitalia period.
