The obligatory "Happy Mother's Day!" thread

Post by NotQuiteDead » Sun May 08, 2005 3:19 pm

I know we have some of the female persuasion on these boards who have procreated....here's to the one day dedicated to you. May you wake up late, and may your dinner (prepared by sig. other and said procreation) be unburned and edible.

What did you all get yours for Mother's Day? Me--my mom is receiving a bonsai tree and starter kit (because she NEEDS a hobby :p), and the illustrated Da Vinci Code, so she doesn't steal mine.

...is it mothers day today? Oh fuck.

I live 1220 miles from home, so all my mom is getting is a phone call today...if I can get my cell phone to work.

Anyway, happy mothers day to all your mothers on RLF

Heh. I'm not doing anything for mother's day today because my mom has requested that it be postponed for exactly one week so that she can celebrate it when her kids will actually be home.

I made breakfast for Mom. It was really hard.

Me: Mom, what do you want for breakfast?
Mom: Make muffins.
Me: *gets out the muffin mix and starts making muffins* What else?
Mom: Muffins are fine.
Me: You need more than muffins. How about coffee? Any kind of meat?
Mom: Coffee's good. And make bacon...in the microwave.

And then, of course, she tried to make the coffee herself. Not only is it hard for her to let someone else do something, she won't let them do it the hard way, either. Mean old lady.

I love my mom.

I took mom out to lunch.

Do you know how hard it is to get a table at a decent restaurant at 12:15 on Mother's Day?

Being broke, and unable to cook, I was limited to making a card for my mother... yeah, it's kind of cheesy, but the best I could do.
