considering that the launch of Halo2 was the biggest 1 day sale of a videogame, ever. That means a lot of people will be spending money on Halo rather than the PS3. Granted, $50 is nothing compared to an entire system, but a lot of people may wait a while before buying a PS3 because "Why buy one and let it collect dust while I play Halo?".
If Microsoft is smart, they'll also drop the price of their console, or maybe just give $10 or $20 off the system when you buy Halo 3.

But how big is the overlap between "PS3 Buyers" and "360 Owners Who Want Halo 3", and then how much of that overlap would buy Halo 3, instead of both or the PS3, instead?

Re: The XBox 360
I'll probably decide which system to buy when one of them comes out with the roleplaying game I "have to have". Realistically I could have both, but I find that my console usually is just a momentary distraction from whatever MMO I am currently playing anyway. FF XI would be a big step towards my buying a 360. I'm also curious about Blue Dragon.

And "the games" isn't a difference between the consoles?

... and it just completely made my night that there's an entry for Lombaxes on Wikipedia...

And before anyone says anything, this has nothing to do with anything furry related ... it's just a good way of saying I want another R&C game, or if not that, then something else set in the same universe.

Damn those developers. Gta was pc made...

One little problem with that. Since Grand Theft Auto III, the games in the series have always been released on the Playstation 2 well before the PC version. I'm betting this trend will continue.
I like to compare the PS2 to the Sega systems when it was (for the most part) just Nintendo and Sega. Nintendo had some decent games, but for the most part, they had relatively few great games. But when they hit great, they hit GREAT. Sega, on the other hand, consistently put out great games, but they often failed to reach that GREAT status.
Nintendo, for the most part, seems to continue this trend. It sort of plods along until a GREAT game comes out. It puts out a few games that are so good, I'd buy a console just to play one of those few games. I believe Microsoft, for the most part, is following Nintendo's trend, and they do it with a console that's more universally appealing. This is unfortunate, as I really do love the occasional Nintendo games that turn out GREAT.
