Dune Vs Starbores
Dune is a great book, I really REALLY love that book.
the movie however, is crap.
first time I saw that movie was after I played dune 2 (which has little to do with the book/film) and I understoon almost nothing ('jihad' I did understand, and it sounded a wee harsh...)
the movie tried cramming in too much a plot in too little a time.... I saw the movie yesterday, after reading the book...
this time I understood everything, but was dissapointed since there was so much left OUT of the movie...
there was a production (I don't remember who by) that filmed Dune as a mini series, 3 parts of a T.V. movie. that version was cool, BUT NOT AS COOL AS STARWARS
I'll sum it up Dune book(s) > starwars IV-VI > starwars I - III > Dune the series > Dune the movie > ε
and my vote is Smaointe

i'll grudgingly accept that different peoples opinions would put them to seeing the original trillogy of starwars above the movie and SciFi Channel's Mini Series, however episodes I and II above it????No NEVER thats is a unbelieveable situation of dumbness, the like of which has never been seen.
Rumour has it Originally it was going to be 6 hours long but they cut it down to the 1.5 hour film and the nearly 2 hour special edition.

I just find RISC processors very dull (unless you made it yourself, then that's impressive, it's like buying an expensive car, well done you can spend money.

What do I want, Nekra? I want to live JUST long enough, to see the day they cut your head off, and stick it on a pike as a reminder to the next 10 generations that some favors come at too high a price. I want to look up at your lifeless eys, and wave *waves* like this. Can you and your associates arrange that for me, Mr. Nekra?
My answer is Babylon 5.

Dune was an amazing book. The 80s movie, on the other hand, was nothing more than crap in its most purified, unadulterated form. The 2000 SciFi version was marginally better, but I don't think either of those could hold a candle to Star Wars.
Comparing the Dune book to the Star Wars series, however... eh, apples and oranges, y'know?

People are like slinkies. Ultimately useless, but you just can't help but laugh when you see one tumble down the stairs.
