So there are people boycotting the movie because they see a parallel between Bush and the emperor even though Lucas has said that there are no parallels. In other words they got it into their heads themselves that Bush is like the emperor and they decided to punish the movie? That's pretty funny, I think.

I like the lightsaber fights. They're cool.

I've honestly heard mention of neither any conspiracy theory nor boycott surrounding Ep3 except in this thread.

There was an article in the Toledo Blade today on it. Well, editorial. Basically, it said anyone who tries to draw these parallels is not only going against George Lucas' own words, but is too serious to enjoy the movie anyway.

They are probably the same folks who said Episode I was racist, and that LotR slammed black people.

Try being an English teacher >_>

I think I got more of a kick out of the elevator shaft/ tilting space ship at the beginning. If the ship suddenly starts falling while in outer space, you wouldn't be thrown to the side of the elevator shaft. Of course, the explosions and the whole "hold on or you'll be sucked out of the busted window" thing wouldn't work either.... Ah... space films.

Blame it on being a science major, but I was most confuzed by Grievous jumping out into space and then coming back in looking grea . .when it appeared he was so obviously partly Organic in nature, and his eyeballs would not have made the trip intact (among other things)

No conspiracy theories here, except that perhaps Lucas is conspiring to make all strong and powerful women into weak willed milksops. Oh wait, that was just one character. Oh, what the heck, Fear Teh Conspiracy!!!

Still. . .liked it. . .will watch again.

You know, I think I'm the only person in the world who prefered the old style of saberfighting to the wire-fu jedimonkey stuff of the prequels...

Out of the prequels, I liked Darth Maul's fighting. Not so much from the martial arts moves (though they were much better in Episode I vs the other 2), but because he was using his lightsaber and the force in a fluid manner. Reminded me for Jedi Knight fighting I guess, force pushes and flips, throwing things at people with the force, opening doors behind him so he didn't have to turn around, etc.

But OT Vader swinging the saber around with one hand was the bomb, everyone else needed two hands to keep up. That and they locked blades alot, so they could exchange lines face to face.

On thing I've never understood:

If the Jedi nights can levitate other objects, why can't they make themselves fly?

They kinda can, using force jump. But using the force that's flowing through you to control your body is not quite the same thing as using it to lift an object elsewhere.

Right. Well, I guess it's better that they don't completely defy the laws of physics.

Yeah. That's for the spaceships to do.
