good ads ANNOYING ads

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

First I'd like to say.. the caffinated hamster ad made me laugh. Good stuff. Nice respectable ad.

However... check this bad boy out:

I recommend violence.

I mean, on the plus side, those are INFINITELY better than the ads we had previous to Liz discovering the evils of the previous ad provider. That one you point to is merely annoying compared to some of the last lot.

[Edit by greg: You think you're clever, but I'd appreciate you keeping this kind of thing to yourself. It doesn't hurt me in the slightest, but still... c'mon now.]

did you see the Souls of Glass ad? It's 183Kb! That's a bit intense for such a small ad.

Yeah, it's annoying, but they're supposed to be attention grabbing. At least we're not being told to punch the paparazzi as Ben Aflec runs towards us...

Well, it succeeds in being attention-grabbing enough that reading the actual text on the ad is really annoying.

I thought Dish Network was large enough to have decent ads, guess I was wrong...

*shrug* Hey, they wanna use that ad, I won't stop them. It's not that it's annoying - but I doubt anyone's gonna buy from them, honestly.

Honestly, no ad annoys me anymore, except for those hellspawn ads with audio. Especially on lyric websites! I'll be listening to some song I'm getting into, Google the name to get some lyrics, start to read them, and then some God damn lady starts telling me about some product I swear I'll boycott, and then you actually have to go up and find the audio off button on the ad itself just so you can go back to listening to the damn music you came there for in the first place... :x

Compared to that hell, I'll take a moving light. Doesn't bother me.

Try Flashblock. No more annoying audio from ads! It's kind of funny, Flashblock winds up being essentially an ad-blocker for my machine due to the vast number of Flash-based ads. Animated GIFs I can accept - barely. Flash-based ads? Not so much.
