So far I like NONE of these suggestions at all, let alone more than the typical controller layout seeded in the NES, that has reached the pinnacle of its evolution (so far) in the PS2 Dual Shock.

Damn right, StruckingFuggle. No controller can beat the Dual Shock 2! First of all, it's symmetrical, well the d-pad is kind of the same as the right thumb buttons. All the buttons are easily accessible. I've only tried the X-box controller a few times, but I didn't like it at all. The GameCube controller is ok, but I think it's hard to reach the d-pad at times.. although, I don't know any game requiring you to use it yet, except for Spider-man 2 where you use it to toggle auto-targeting and spider reflexes..
I know my little sister and brother are having problems learning to play. I mean, for me, it's no problem; I started with the NES, then gradually went up through SNES, PS1 (without the analog), then PS2.. but for a total newbie, all those buttons can be very confusing.
PS2 POWAH.
Btw, is it just me that's worried about the PS3 controller? It didn't look comfy at all..

No, this has been argued to death more times than I can count on almost every forum on the internet.
It looks ok to me, but also remember Sony said it is a prototype. They might change it. If they look at the internet at all, they probably will.

I think the xbox controller is pretty good if not for the white and black buttons, but on the xbox 360 they're moved to the top like shoulder buttons so I don't really see any faults for that controller. The PS3 controller looks uncomfortable and it's really small...
The PS2 controller was nice but I always thought the stubs were too small... I like the gamecube controller more.
But back on topic, I think the Revolution's controller will be something gimicky that will require games to adjust their gameplay to it (a bit like the DS)

No, it will be a full body suit. It will be made out of lightweght, inexpensive material and its vibration function will be able to handle specific parts of the body. Or a whole body thing, for massive explosions.

Indeedy, best controller evar! Unfortunately you can't find them anywhere anymore and all mine are dead. The "best" one I have left has some kind of glitch where it likes to pretend I'm pushing the control sticks when I'm really not.

That's another thing you have to give Nintendo, again. Nigh-indestructible. Two of my Gamecube controllers have gone through a car crash that totalled the car, and destroyed many things in it, and they have nary a scratch!

Hmm...
/me gets idea to paint little brother's GameCube in olive drab with a white star on it...
Anyhoo, I think the Dreamcast controllers were the most confortable and most all-around ergonomic controllers I've ever dealt with, and I've tried just about all of them, from the Atari to the X-Box.
