27-6-05 Reality TV TV

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

27-6-05 Reality TV TV

Post by Frankie Tripod » Mon Jun 27, 2005 11:56 am

That is quite possibly my second worst fear realised...A whole channel devoted to nothing but reality TV. Only FOX could take something good as TV and make it evil

God am I glad my wife and I both hate Reality TV. Of course, she likes Seinfeld and still watches reruns of that crap. *shudder*

Oh well, it gives me an excuse to go play on the computer. And I have a perfectly good little TV right next to the monitor on my desk.

You're not married are you? Whipped and knowing when to back down in order to maintain domestic harmony aren't the same thing. Really. Just ask my wife.

I tried that when my fiancee would watch Survivor, then she started complaining that I didn't spend time with her, so I started taking naps on the couch by her when it came on.

Am I the only one who noticed the typo in the comic:

"Perhaps I should have prased that better."

And a reality TV show CHANNEL?!?!?!

:o

No, you're not. First, I read it as "I should have praised that better." Which makes it a totally different comic. Then I looked real close and saw that the P and the H were touching, so it could have been "frased". That made my brain hurt.

Does Fox have any more live action sitcoms? All I can think of is Malcolm in the Middle.

That 70's Show, Stacked, The Bernie Mac Show, and of course American Idol... but there isn't that many. Oh FOX, what happen to the days when you didn't care if anyone was watching, now you're actually one of the big 4 networks...

You knwo, I haven't met anyone that claims to LIKE reality TV...must be one of those guilty hidden pleasuers. That I don't indulge in. Ever.

Can't agree with you on seinfeld, though. That show's brilliant!

70's show: entertaining last I watched it, but that was years ago.
Stacked: Pam Anderson show, hopefully doomed to failure, why isn't she dead yet?
Bernie Mac Show: Never saw it, no interest
American Idol: sorry, this is not a Sitcom and all those associated with it can be killed in a terrorist strike and the world would be a better place for it.

They also had Mad TV, which sucks horibly last I checked and a few other shows. The only thing I watch on Fox anymore is the animated programs.

Sketch comedy != sitcom.

I completely forgot about Bernie Mac, and didn't know Stacked was Fox. As for the 70's show, I thought they had retired that. I mean, shouldn't it be that 80's show by now?

They also have House, which isnt a sitcom by any means by a very awesome drama show. It may even be THE BEST SHOW IN THE UNIVERSE!

Actually That 80's show was attempted, and it failed.

This comic scared me.

That 80's show was TERRIBLE.

I like House, I'm pretty sure Fox is coming out with a bunch of copies after seeing that it worked. "Bones" for example.

See American Idol is an interactive sitcom. The fact that the show is made is the situation and the comedy is that it has an audience.
