Re: Post your gun
I like the sig better the glock looks like a 2x4 with a handle that shoots bullets.

I can go to prison if I get caught without a triggerlock!

Wouldn't a concealed weapon be entirely defeated by having to have a trigger lock on it?
I'd like to see a gang wait while you pull out your gun and ask, "Hey, could you give me a second to take off my trigger lock?"

Personal preference, but I don't like glocks. Yeah, they're like the most reliable semi-auto pistol ever built, but I still don't like them. Too overhyped. And they're too...bland, I guess. I've never seen a glock look like anything other than a glock. But something like a Sig can be nickle plated and polished and look absolutely beautiful, but the glock just looks like a chunk of plastic.

This is kind of off-topic, but you know, it seems really wierd to me to hear all you just casually talk about guns and how many you have or whatever. I don't know anyone who owns a gun, except my brother, but I figure pellet guns don't count? Heh...once again reminding me how different Canada and the US can be from each other. No, the 1911 is - the Kimber adopted by SF just recently had to pass a 25K round fire test with no misfires or hangups. I don't like Glocks and Sigs are "eh"... Taste in Semi pistols runs to 1911's, Browning 1935's(the correct designation for the Hi-Power) and Automags. I'm a traditionalist.
Bullets were lead alloy until the 1920's, nowadays you have cast lead, swaged lead, lead with a copper jacket, and copper turned from barstock.
The triggerlock deal applies to transporting firearms, not a CCW. Forget a CCW in New York, the Sullivan law makes it almost impossible - you have to be able to prove you carry at least a thousand dollars in cash on you at all times.. It's meant to keep joe citizen from protecting himself. Even a target permit is a pain in the ass here, I don't bother, all I have are rifles and shotguns.
Yeah Deac, I'd love to move, but I don't have the money. Sigh. I hope I can open the shop next year...
Sneaky Ninja, I don't know what kind of area you live in BC, but I know alot of guys in canada with alot of guns... Mostly in the backwoods..

I love 1911's, absolutely beautiful guns. My favorite gun however is the Colt Python. Colt made a BIG mistake scrapping it in favor of the King Cobra/Anaconda. It's just an amazingly beautiful gun, accurate as hell (a 6 and a half inch barrel helps the accruacy though...) It's my dream gun.

A friend of mine is a gun dealer, when he heard that Colt was stopping all revolver production a couple of years ago, he bought up every Python he could find - in two years, they doubled in value. Turned around and sold em.
The thing about Colt DA's is they have horrible triggers, it takes a tremendous amount of work to give a decent trigger pull to a Colt, while a couple of hours work on a S&W is all it takes to make it sweet.

Really? The Python I shot few years back at the shooting range we used to frequent had a very sweet pull. Then again I usually cock the hammer back instead of just pulling the trigger. And my uncle has a Python that has a nice DA pull.

I personally have little interest in guns as a source of beauty and all that. I vouched for the Glock 19 from experience regarding its utility and "shootability". Light weight plus reliability plus no external safety plus commonality equals good.

Keep in mind that what you consider "sweet" and what I consider "sweet" are probably two different things - I used to like to compete in PPC matchs - the revolver I used to borrow had a 12 OUNCE DA pull... No heavy spots or hangups on the sear either.
It may very well have a good pull, it may have had a trigger job at one point, or it may be the odd duck good one that you find straight from Conneticut every once in a while, but generally Smiths have a better trigger and are easier to make really good than Colts.
As for Deac's disinterest in the beauty of shaped metal, it's somewhat unusual for a gun enthusiast - me, well take a look at my profile and see what I do for a living. Right now, I'm wait for a belt grinder to show up this afternoon so I can do gunstocks.
Hmm, this post needs some eye candy:
