HTRN, it's not to say that I don't appreciate a beautiful weapon, but when it comes to discussing handguns and which ones are "best", the beauty of it doesn't really enter the equation much. I don't understand the, "I don't like Glocks because they just look like Glocks instead of looking cool." I can appreciate beautiful cars, too, but when it comes to the best sports car, I'm not putting my vote on the one I think looks the coolest.

Best =1911's period.

Ever shot one setup for competition? The only thing I've seen that is argueably better in terms of feel and trigger are the Hammerli's.

Well, I just don't like glocks period. I don't like the aesthetic look of them nor do I really care for the way they fire. I won't deny that they're a decent gun, but they're just not my cup of tea.

I didn't care for the glock 9mm I shot at the range. It had too much recoil for me. I have the tiny arms of doom and need a bit of a heavier gun to counteract that. I loved the beretta, but the Sig that Nick has is just plain sexy. I want one now.

If you're talking sexy guns, the Schoefield still wins handguns, hands down.

*snerks* but talking of "best" handguns, I'm still sorta amused at one ROTC kid who was trying to argue that the DE .50 was the best handgun ever made.

Interesting, yes.
Best handgun, not even close.

Lately, I find myself liking the cheapo H&R top breaks in .32H&R..

They seem like a blast for the money.

Speaking of guns, I will post a comic from someone Greg hates just because it's on-topic:

Though I personally own no weapons (they always seem to be just slightly less important than other things), here are the items that I have on the shopping list:

Walther P99

Sig Pro in .40 S&W

Remington M700...

...which I would like to turn into an M24 (or something near to it -- .300 WinMag is expensive!)
Image

Still haven't decided on a shotgun, but Benelli ranks high on the list of possible manufacturers. The only gun up there I have an issue with is the Walther, and that's because on the unit I've fired, I tend to get the bottom of my trigger finger pinched when I fire it. I don't know if it's particular to that weapon, or the entire line. I need to find that out before I spend money on it.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Wait till you have to neck turn every damn piece of brass!

BTW, Martin, you do know about the 700 Police rifle right? Not listed in their normal catalog, but a number of dealers sell em', take a look in the Shotgun News.

Here's a pic:

The one thing I would change is the gawd awful factory trigger and put a Jewell in.

So it's an invisible gun?

You can't see the image?

Hmm, must be blocking the hotlink.

Here's the page:http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn10-e.htm

I'm going to guess that the image isn't available, because it doesn't come in on that page, either.

I had to right click>view image then refresh.

Did you imagine the final sound as a gun? Or the shattered windows of a car? Did you ever imagine the last thing you'd hear as you're fading out was a song?
