I see them all the times at shows for around $450.

The Keltec's are the cheapest, but I would avoid them if possible - they reek of junk.

I have a Camp .45 and it is probably going to be the second most expensive of the ones I listed and the most difficult to find. They're out of production and the last time I looked, over $450 used. I scored mine for a buck and a half and it looked basically unfired. The most interesting thing about them is the fact that some of "Black arts" companies are converting them to full length suppressors - most are quieter than a .22LR...

Meh, Blaze. Was looking for something with hte look of an AR that chambers handgun rounds.

Ah well.

Fascinatin' stories, folks, but I'm off to bed. Goodnight, y'all, and thanks for all the info.

(still curious on the issue of carrying a gun in the name of a relative versus in your own name, but that's most likely a question really for an officer of the law.)

It would also depend on the officer!

You're talking a very gray area, personally I wouldn't risk it.

I would. That's just silly. You get a fishing license, you don't worry about whose rod you're using unless you stole it. You get a concealed carry permit, you don't get it for a particular gun with a particular serial number.

Really? Wanna explain that to NYC firearms control?

I have to not only have the licence on me, but I have to have the correct "green form" too. This in addition to countless other bullshit rules.

I can go to prison if I get caught without a triggerlock!

It shouldn't be that hard to track down.

I think it may be a early model Colt .38. Maybe 40's era or so. The insignia near the cylendar looks like the horse logo to me.

HTRN, that's why you get the hell out of NY and let the dipshit psuedo-intellectuals get themselves shot.

yeah but 50 cal ammo costs 3 dollars per bullet. Trust me I have some I keep a live 50 cal round on my desk until I can buy a gun to shoot it out of.

... You keep rounds to a gun you don't own?

I think your purchasing priorities are kind of backward.

I can verify that it's a .38, as it's very, very similar in size, shape, and form to the police .38 that my Grandpa Davenport carried in the early '30s. That one has a heavier frame and a larger grip than this, possibly indicating newer manufacture for the pictured gun, but may also be something that police preferred. I know that Grandpa Davenport's gun has a hair trigger with the hammer cocked, much lighter than most other pulls I've felt.

Interesting. So that's why people who got shot in the civil war got so fucked up. They had either 50 or 55 calibur bullets.

The rounds used then were very different from those used today. The problem that they had in the Civil War was one of treatment -- no antibiotics, no real painkillers, no concept of clean surgical facilities (most doctors didn't even wash their hands). Even those rounds that were on the evolutionary path to current munitions were much smaller than that Colin holds. The .50BMG round borders on the loose definition of 'cannon' because of its firepower. You can get rounds close to that diameter that have nowhere near the power of a .50BMG.

I currently own two handguns of my own. The first one being a Glock 19 (9mm and smaller version of the 17,) and secondly a SIG Sauer P226 9mm, as well.
