civil war bullets are not that big here is a civil war bullet in the middle of the previous two rounds, and my civil war gun this was a rifle but at some point someone shortened the barrel and made is a shotgun.

I was actually referring to the wounds themselves, like having a bullet litterally tear through bone in a not nice clean-cut way.

I know way more than I should about Civil War medical treatment due to a Civil War Lit class. That's actually where some of current medical knowlege started. One doctor noted that the patients he treated after rinsing off his instruments tended to fair better than the others infection-wise. It's amazing to think that, at one point, people didn't know that kind of thing.

BTW that civil war bullet is pure lead, however it was dropped during the civil war and a guy I used to work with who goes relic hunting dug it up it's now white from having been exposed to the elements and the dirt it was dug out of is still inside. :)

Well, Marty.. if I still had my hook-up, I would see about getting you something. But, as it stands, I won't be entering that store ever again.

Yesh, bullets were made entirely of lead for many years. That's where Dubuque, IA got started: Lead mines and a shot-producing tower.

I have owned my Glock for many years, SnM.. and I have always wanted to get a SiG. The P226 is great! I love how it handles and how easy it is to clean. I was lucky enough to be able to buy it at, uh, cost.

:D

got mine used, but it's a sig so thats fine the condition was still excellent, 3 extra 15 rounders and a 17 rounder that looks like a 15 rounder for around 600 something. I keep around 60 rounds of federal expanding ball ammo for it because it's superior to the hollow point ammo in that there are no misfeeds.

Erm, I was, uh.. engaged to the guy that basically owns the store. Sadly, this is really the only shooting range around here. I posted in my journal a rather large update of what I've been up to these days. Has all my major life changes listed there.

Back to the gunning! ;)

I shall go read that. Normally I avoid the journals section like the plauge. WB, though. Bloody good to see that you're alive.

They're jacketed in copper mostly, though occasionally steel is used (those $5 .50BMG rounds I mentioned in IM last night were steel-jacketed).
