Don't understand men?

Post by Darkhan » Fri Jul 15, 2005 3:15 am
I've seen this around on other boards with moderate success, so I figured I'd give it a whirl here. Simple concept.

Guys- Ask any questions about females that you want to know.
Girls- Answer them as logically (key word there! "Because I'm a girl!" just doesn't cut it.) as possible.

Try to keep it at least somewhat serious, no "Do you play with your b00bz lawls." please. Other than that, feel free to ask whatever you wish, even if it's a little embarassing. Also, guys can feel free to make one of these too. :)
Ya, liberally stolen from Jezebel. This works the other way.
Women - Ask any questions about males that you want to know.
Men - Answer them as logically as possible, preferably quoting them in your answer, so they know you're answering their question.

Males arn't illogical we are either good or bad and the only questions girls would have about us are things they invented because they think we are like them needlessly complicated and ilogical

I've thunk and thunk and thunk and I can't come up with a single burning question. I feel like there's something I just HAVE to ask, but I can't think of anything.

I personally don't give a rat's ass about "sports", the only notable exception is autoracing, and the outdoor sports like hunting and fishing...

I think alot of the interest in sports has to do with tribal nature of man..

IE, my "tribe" just beat up your "tribe"... It's a way of instilling an artificial sense of community..

Edit: I think it's because, as Wolf said, men are pretty logical. Every question I can think of has a logical answer.

Personally, it's about the chance, the suspense. The less certain the outcome, the better the game. Nothin' like a game going to overtime!

As opposed to, say, Dawsons Creek, where the entire plot line for the next 5 years is predictable.

Sport doesn't have to have happy endings, it's often completely unpredictable, and it sure as hell doesn't have to include Sally Field.

Gah! Sally Field. *shivers*

Jez: actually, I think HTRN hit it pretty well. If we are fans of a certian team, it's sort of like being "part" of that team. While watching, we almost begin to feel like our cheering and support has a beneficial effect on "our" team. It builds adrenaline and endorphines, because when they succeed, we succeed.

Also, sports are usually a very back and forth struggle, so they really are just plain interesting. You can almost sort of write a great script to many games.

Other than football, I don't watch sports. I watch football cause I played it growing up and I know how strategic the game is. A talented team can lose to a less-talented team that is organized better. Other than that, I dunno.

No, I think they just realize that you're mostly right.

Oh, here's one. Why do guys automatically drool over any female on the internet, regardless of how attractive she actually is? I can understand not wanting to hurt feelings, but no one is FORCING you to say "ur hawt lol" to every single female that comes around. So what gives? Low standards? Automatic response? Desperation in the hopes that if you are nice to it, it will have sex with you?

Options. It's that simple. And it's a machinegun approach -- even if only one in a thousand shots is good, firing ten thousand times means ten hits.

As they get older, they begin to understand what it was early on that made sense and worked. Sort of like the real world, where early on they try a hundred approaches, and settle on the ones that work the best later on.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Bingo.

Jez, the average man gets rejected 20 times, often insultingly, before he gets anywhere with a woman.

A nameless image on the internet, who you have no chance of actually meeting and therefore rejected by, automatically moves up on our interest scale.

Plus, if they're nekkid, we automatically assume they're easy. :D
