What do you bet... (the Cavern)

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

I'm channeling the "doors fan" from Kids in the Hall while making these strips.

"NO BASS. The Doors had no bass! You see, the Gypsies had no homes! But don't let that SCARE you. Let that FREE you. Let that LIBERATE you. When you're free flyin' with the Doors, man, you don't NEED no safety net!"

"You wanna know how I know? You wanna know who told me? Well last year, JIM FUCKIN' MORRISON told me, that's who! He came to me! 'Cause I'm a Doors fan! A Doors fan, man!"

Jim Morrison is inspector #48.
That actually makes a lot of sense now. I was wondering why he was inspecting hats in Seattle and pants in Arizona.

I still want a Zork reference, damn it.

Oh. And I recently moved to San Diego from Seattle. Job Market sucks up there.

I remember all those Doors fans when I was in high school.
"Jim Morrison was a lyrical genius."
"Is that why his lyrics made no sense?"
"Yeah man"
"You sure he wasn't just on drugs?"

*pulls out hair*

It's Summoner Geeks all over again, I tell you.

Edit: The pain continues in e-mail. People : Jim Morrison is more than just a cameo from Wayne's World 2. He was a kick-ass vocalist, an awesome lyricist, and none other than the Lizard King himself. He has nothing to do with an indian, naked or otherwise. Stop trying to see influences and references where none exist. If I make a reference, I promise - you'll know.

Do yourself a favor. Get iTunes, and go download a Doors album. And not just some Greatest Hits album, either. Greatest Hits albums are for housewives and little girls. :) Start with "Riders on the Storm", and just go from there. Or download "Morrison Hotel". Or "L.A. Woman." Or "Waiting for the Sun." Hell, they're all good. Just enjoy.

The Doors as a boyband - I think I sense a collective negative outcry coming

As for the bass-discussion, I usually leave the remark that they used a studio-bass player while recording & then let Ray Manzarek play with the bass-keyboard-thingie while on the road

Don't those come standard with a house in the suburbs?

Or did I get that in Jr. High... either way.

I bet it's a big cave full of things Greg lost and Jim Morrison is hiding down there, thinking about boybands hit potential. :shifty:
