Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

We could always go to a more 'natural, day length of about 25 hours, as subjects in "timeless" environments without sunlight, clocks, or radios find their biological clocks are set for periods between 24 and 25 hours, these circadian rhythms vary from person to person so could make some interesting times and days all individual. I'm not just late, I'm early in my own time

BadMonkey, the authors of that site, assuming it's not all an elaborate joke, have apparently never heard of circadian rhythms or chronobiology. Additionally, one of the only 6 main points they could come up with as benefits to the new system:
Every Day is Different:
The four hour difference between a 28 hour wake/sleep cycle and the 24 hour light/dark cycle, would create a "sun offset", which would make each day of the week substantially different in terms of the position of the sun at various times. One day you might have lunch under the stars. Another day, you might breakfast at sunset. Read more about the many additional benefits that arise from the sun offset.
That is an example of a draw-back. A problem. Apparently this is something they've never actually tried to do. Did you know that there's a term "the graveyard shift" that was coined in many people's opinion due to it putting you there? As Wiki expounds: "The February 15, 2005 issue of American Family Physician noted that shift work has been associated with cluster headaches. The consequences of disturbing natural circadian sleep rhythms has been investigated also. A study by Knutsson in 1986 found that shift workers who had worked in that method for 15 years or more, were 300% more likely to develop Ischaemic heart disease."

Additionally, the 28-hour Day site asserts that, "A Longer Day Means Less Hurrying." This, to me, proves that they're idiots, as a longer day simply means more time in which to pack the activities that drive our day to be as hurried as it is. 4 extra hours does not mean 4 hours to loaf around or 4 hours more in which to do the same amount of work. It means you're going to be expected to do 4 more hours worth of work.

I'm Canadian and I've always pronounced it "zee." Then again, I did pre-school and kindergarten in the US, but still.

"Zed" sounds like it should be a name or something. Like the name of a robot. Yeah, it would make a good robot name.

Zed was the sadistic rapist in Pulp Fiction.

Metric time has already been considered in detail. Each week (which they rechristen a dekade) would be ten days, each day ten hours, each hour 100 minutes, each minute 100 seconds. This leaves each metric second to be equal to .864 common seconds, which makes for an easier transition for most people. They take things a bit too far on a couple of points, but it wouldn't be that hard to change with this method.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

The oddest part of this is that there are dozens of forms of Spanish that deviate from the original far greater than the American English does from the original yet no one ever says much if they say anything about all the different Sanish styles of speaking. No offence to anyone but I think it's really just another excuse to poke fun or outright slander Americans.

well considering the alphabet song i know the line sing along with me is obviously meant to go with zee, so i feel like its a uphill battle with the americans, they maybe right

but that does not mean i will sit here and not say zed is right.

most inter country differences are teased too, a southern brit is teased by the northen lot, the southern brits tease them back, all due to slight variations, maybe the spanish are just less likly to tease?

I'm still trying to work out who the hell called a letter double-you..I mean, surely it should just be called wee? or wed? depending on what part of the world you inhabit? What sort of freakazoid comes up with a three syllable word to name a letter!

Gah!

The letter U once looked exactly like the letter V. Put two of them together, and you get a W.

Put two n's together and you get an m - do you see anyone calling it 'double-en'?

No. Why? Because they called it 'em' instead!
