I got it to work.

You may also have to upgrade to the latest version of the Jabber Plug-in from Trillian's website. I did that before I ever tried connecting via Trillian.

Everyone I know that has it working in Trillian has the latest Jabber plug-in. I don't know of anyone who has tried using the instructions I posted above using the plug-in that comes with Trillian Pro.

This is going to get confusing, who is nines anderson? Oh god who are all the people. It will be nice if they allow you to do stuff like with trillian where you can change the names because no way will I be able to keep this straight.

...you can rename them. Right-click on the contact and select Rename soandso@gmail.com.
