LIES! All lies!

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

The great, and I mean GREAT thing about radio shack isn't the selling of cheap CD players and stuff like that, it's the stuff they carried originally, like timers, transistors, Wire, and a countless variety of other things.

Yes, I know this stuff is available online. Yes I know it's probably cheaper. But it takes time and has to add shipping to the cost.

I, for instance, am about to head over to the local one in hopes of finding a "tick/tock" timer - they have two outlets, one is off while the other is on. I know I can get them from a pet supplier online, but what they get for timers is obscene.

Sigh. the things I do to get in a girls pants.... :(

About the only thing I go to Radio Shack for is the base components (much like HTRN), like resistors, capacitors, transistors and op-amps. Because it is closer to my house and cheaper than the lab store at school.

When I first read that, I thought it implied that you were attempting to put on a pair of girl's pants, but they were too small for you and somehow a device from Radio Shack was going to fix that.

When I first read that, I was wondering how a "tick/tock" timer will get you into a girls pants. Actually, I still can't figure it out, is this "tick/tock" timer sprayed with AXE?

Wait... so there're still places called Radio Shack? I was under the impression that they all got changed to The Source, the spiffy new name targetted at eliminating the reputation Radio Shack has for inflated prices and inferior products. That, and it's a better name, but I think the reputation is the main reason.

Or is the change only up in Canada or something like that?

That sounds like another evil Canadian plot! :shifty:

I have two within 5 miles of me - I used to have one within walking distance, but it shutdown due to lack of business and too many stores too close.

She needed help with her pet lizard that was in cold distress. I took her to a "big box" petstore in NJ so she could pick up another heat lamp and a few other odds and ends not to be found at a local place. I still haven't heard from her since thursday, and I still have to drop off a riser block for her heat lamp.

<EDIT>A "tick/tock" timer has two outlets - when one is off, the other is on. They're quite common in petstores because people keeping Live reef tanks generally have "day" bulbs and "night" bulbs. Reptile keepers also use them for the same reason. The problem is that local places charge an arm and a leg for the damn things. I did find a reasonable one at That Fish Place. And the sixty four dollar question of why I'm putting up with all this aggravation is because I like her.

Yes. I'm stupid. :(

You wouldn't happen to be talking about the one in Lowmen's plaza being the one shut down?

But alas! You are all attacking my placve of business. And I tell you, we are CONSTANTLY told that we are the BEST....

By people over 50.

Yes, we're expensive, they push that off as because you get superior service in RS, being as that everyone works on Commision, we HAVE to help you, or we don't get paid more then chicken feed... As opposed to places like Best Buy and Circut City, who could give a rats ass about you, as they get a paycheck none the less

Bullshit I know. But they were the only place willing to hire my ass, and I've become comfortable there, now finally having a worthy schedual. Though my ass may be looking for a new job, as my Sales continue to drop... (I try I swear.)

Wonder if Best Buy's hireing?

If so, they probably were about a month ago, and you've missed the boat there, too.

And hopefully you'd spell better on the application.

San Angelo just got a Best Buy. It's tiny. And a little sad.
