Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh.

So, wait, is it that my ISP hasn't gotten off their butt to refresh their DNS, or is that that Real Life's RAM went kablooey? (or both?) Still no comix for me

Do tell us, did it explode or engulf itself in a plumb of smoke?

Mostly, it's got alzheimer's. And it's debilitating - it loses the battle a little more each day.

kirabug, it depends on the error message you get and whether you use IE, which doesn't tell you what's wrong, only that you couldn't get to the page. Using Firefox, for instance, I'm being told that the connection to the server is being refused. This most likely means that the system is up and running at least to a certain extent, but that the web services are not available, which means that when I try to connect to them, the computer says, basically, "I've got nothing here for you. Go away."
On the other hand, if it says it could not find the host name
http://www.reallifecomics.com then it means it may well be a DNS issue.

Looks like it's the DNS issue because I can get RL at home but not at work.

I have just now been able to get to the site. I haven't all day.

That's absolutely not an indicator. I couldn't get to it at work, but now at home (hours later) I can. Was it a DNS issue before? No. The server was just fuxx0red.
Doesn't mean that it's for sure NOT a DNS issue. Just that it is by no means conclusive that DNS has anything whatsoever to do with it.

[quote="Blackie";p="551854"]all hail martin!
when all else fails we can rely on him to get us the comic on time.. (no offense greg but you know.. you are UBER but he is uhh... more .. uber?.. umm...

This server can handle it, but my bandwidth allocation at the moment is not sufficient to handle what Greg pushes, particularly at peak times.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Ok, I'm not understanding this.
For some odd reason, Road Runner won't connect to RL.

It doesn't look like the ISP. He already said there was bad RAM.

Can someone post today's comic (Oct. 12). I can't get it.
I'll be your wingman. Even if it means me taking a chubby, I'll suck it up.

Exactly. Given the known issues with the comics server, it would be appreciated if someone who does happen to see the new comic would save it to their computer, upload it to a website, and then link it here.

I keep getting last Friday's comic on the main page, and then when I try to go to the archive page, it loads the index page. Ack! If you post today's comic, I will go away...
