WARNING: EXTREMELY N00BISH QUESTION AHEAD.

Sorry for being a dumbass, but I've one question.

What's the difference between IMAP and POP?

/me awaits the inevitable smack in the head... :(

one downloads the mail to your PC and removes it from the server, one keeps stuff on the server.

POP downloads, it's bad, easy to lose mail. IMAP is good. You can use either, but I recommend IMAP.

I'd recommend, for future reference, posting this stuff to me in a PM - there did seem to be a bit of a "hiccup" - but things are working now. :D

I'm going to be gone for a few days, so I hope nothing crashes. No requests will be tended to either, as I'll be effectively away from any keyboard till Sunday night. Have fun, hope nothing dies. :D

Hmmm... I'm trying to link to an html file containing my winamp playlist for the playlist thread in the Entertainment forum. It's called Playlist.htm, so you'd think the link "http://www.reallifehosting.com/~ShinyWo ... aylist.htm would work, but it doesn't. I get a "file not found" error message. I didn't want to bug Brian about it, since it's probably due to my own ineptitude and lack of knowledge. :D I was just wondering if anyone here might know what I'm doing wrong.

By posting the above, I am doing my part to help combat the Great Forum Recession of 2009. Please consider contributing to the bailout of our once great forum by posting a reply to this thread. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thanks... But... It didn't... How did you... Oh... I had to have the "l" on the end, didn't I? So that's it...

/me feels stupid.

/me kicks self in head with a large pot for blatant idiocy.

I am impressed that you were able to kick your own head with a large pot, however. That takes some foot strength.

This is exactly the sort of thing you should be coming to me about. Mind you, it's probably better that you took this to the forum since I was on a vacation, but issues like this can usually more easily be resolved by me. Mind you, enisoc is great and wise, and so experimenting and trying it with the L worked, but if it hadn't, and you had done something like capitalizing it like PlAyLiSt.HTML - well, that'd have been harder to figure out, but I could have gone onto the server and found the file in your directory, and given you the proper URL.

Never feel bad about sending me a PM (or IM too, see links below) for help. I'm always happy to assist. :)

Yeah... I tried experimenting, but I probably added the "l" when I changed something else too, and that screwed it up.

Ok, I ran upon some new problems for me, I created a folder and put all the pictures I had on there in the folder, and now I can't get my pictures to load.
