Oh Lord, save me from the stupidity of angsty teenagers.

Post by Majickal1 » Thu Jan 05, 2006 12:51 am

I was recently introduced to a "debate" site called newzcrew.com. I am sad to report that it is not actually a debate site, but a place where stupid people can say stupid things to each other. For example:

i wasnt aware there was such a thing as gay marriage... people dont really tend to talk about it much do they? personally i dont find it natural. kinda spiols the ideas of gettin married too.. i mean who would wear the dress? and the 'i now pronounce you man and man' sounds a bit weird too
Rae1991 02:55pm Dec 9, 2005 EST 3 of 94
I would have to agree with lil angel89.
Queen Angel 05:16pm Dec 9, 2005 EST 4 of 94
I WOULD WEAR THE DRESS!! I love wedding dresses!! jk

you have never heard of gay marriage? Are you new? It is like one of the most famous topics on newz crew.

Yes it totally degrates marraige. It is a disgusting display of horrid immorality!
Rae1991 09:53pm Dec 9, 2005 EST 5 of 94
Exactly Queen Angle! It totally degrades marriage! Marriage is sacred and holy and it has toally been ruined by gay marriage.
Club29 10:47pm Dec 9, 2005 EST 6 of 94
Lol wow this group may not have to many things to debate? No homosexuals here? I guess will just have to wait til salsa checks in.
Salsa 11:24pm Dec 9, 2005 EST 7 of 94
never fear, salsa's here!

cmon, i want the right to marry my girlfriend if i so choose!!! erm, not that i have a girlfriend yet, but its only a matter of time.

but whats wrong with people getting married? its normal, its been normal since 1982. ask the apa. it SHOULD be allowed.

yay many conservatives. salsa's going to have fun here! lol
Club29 11:38pm Dec 9, 2005 EST 8 of 94
I would love to discuss politics even though it's more of my little brothers feild, im more theology based. My brother says conservatives ask what they can do for the government while democrats whine and complain about what the government can or can't do for them. I happen to agree with him, because based on what ive seen all democrats do is complain about everything and are self-centered. The only reason I say gay marriage is wrong is because is because I believe homosexuality is wrong, but if it's not legally wrong than I don't see why gay marriages are. I hate saying that but I haven't been provided with info as to why, so hopefully someone will. Homosexuality I believe is wrong and unnatural and as someone said on here, it's a parasite that feeds off heterosexuals, without heterosexuals it wouldn't exist.
Queen Angel 01:15am Dec 10, 2005 EST 9 of 94
"but whats wrong with people getting married? its normal"

You are 100% right Salsa. Marriage is normal but marriage is between a man and woman. It even says so in the dictionary love. But even a purely white pearl can get dirt on it. It is up to us the normal ones to clean it off.
Majick 11:09am Dec 10, 2005 EST 10 of 94
The only unnatural aspect of gay marriage is the innability of the couple to procreate., So, you are effectively saying, "Men shouldn't be allowed to marry men, women shouldn't be allowed to marry women, sterile men should not be allowed to marry at all, and sterile women should not be able to marry at all." Considering the growing gay population and the small window of fertility in males and females your argument suggests that only young straight people will ever be allowed to get married. That is a problem.

-------
The last post is mine. I'm not quite able to understand the utter illiteracy and lack of basic human logic. I am also perturbed by the entire situation- this Club29 fellow saying things like "Republicans do nothing but try to help people and Democrats only whine and complain."
--------
To sum things up-can anyone give me advice? How do I react and respond to such buffoons?!? If this doesn't do it, there are 1,200 posts of this refuse here: Web Page Name
------
Please help me.

Don't look at the page? That's a good way to save yourself from "the stupidity of angsty teenagers."

Although this seems more like a forum of people that just believe everything their parents tell them. Those are more youth group-ish than angsty.
"Or even worse are those times when I catch myself trying to twist his message to make it say what I want him to say, and then only hearing that. This can be a very subtle thing, and it is surprising how skillful I can be in doing it. Just by twisting his words a small amount, by distorting his meaning just a little, I can make it appear that he is not only saying the thing I want to hear, but that he is the person I want him to be." -Carl Rogers

Yay pointless and useless and inconsequential chatlogs ranting about politics and current events!

I find the first set of issues rather accurate, actually.

If only because I find the imagery of two guys, one wearing a bridal gown and carrying flowers incredibly amusing for some reason.

Ignore them and don't go to websites that are MADE for angsty teenagers? It's like expecting to have a meaningful conversation about politics on an MTV forum.

This sounds like a "debate" a church youth group tried to have with me and some friends at a coffee house once. They kept throwing out "The bible says this" and "The bible says that". Apparently they belong to a church youth group that is "preparing" these kids to hold political offices. At the time we were talking about Clinton's creation of the don't ask don't tell policy. They kept saying that the rule was stupid because the government shouldn't even reconize the rights of gay people simply because they are an abomination or something the like. Apparently alot of "main stream" christian thought hasn't changed much from the crusade days, mearly the method of application.

This would be a lot funnier if images worked properly at this time.

...or anyone who watched Comedy Central when it was just starting out, and was mostly old sketch shows and movies (kinda like when SciFi channel started airing, and it was mostly Quantum Leap reruns :D)
