Disguise Self
Illusion (Glamer)
Level: Brd 1, Sor/Wiz 1, Trickery 1
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 10 min./level (D)
You make yourself—including clothing, armor, weapons, and equipment—look different. You can seem 1 foot shorter or taller, thin, fat, or in between. You cannot change your body type. Otherwise, the extent of the apparent change is up to you. You could add or obscure a minor feature or look like an entirely different person.
The spell does not provide the abilities or mannerisms of the chosen form, nor does it alter the perceived tactile (touch) or audible (sound) properties of you or your equipment.
If you use this spell to create a disguise, you get a +10 bonus on the Disguise check.
A creature that interacts with the glamer gets a Will save to recognize it as an illusion.
(By "interacts with," I took that as physically interact with, not just see. Although I do see where you're coming from... I dunno. My interpretation offers slightly more power to Disguise Self, so I'll use that.)

(Also, for the half-dragon template thing, keep in mind that I have to review everything the characters do. If I allow something even when it's not according to the rules as written, then it's safest to assume it's a house rule. Just letting you now so we don't fill up half a page again. XD)

(And Urza, I guess you're right on the Kemchi probably just passing time thing. Still, I don't want him to feel obliged to post, just post if he's feeling well enough.)

The merchants go on to explain to Ekzier that all he has to do is guard the ship in the Aledwy's third port. They've gotten more confident since piquing his interests, and began to speak as if in a normal conversation. They finish by adding, "It'll take a good part of the day, but we'll give you 50 gold."
"Or even worse are those times when I catch myself trying to twist his message to make it say what I want him to say, and then only hearing that. This can be a very subtle thing, and it is surprising how skillful I can be in doing it. Just by twisting his words a small amount, by distorting his meaning just a little, I can make it appear that he is not only saying the thing I want to hear, but that he is the person I want him to be." -Carl Rogers

OOC: Outta hospital now, they have me wearing a portable heart monitor to record my hearts rhythms for a week. Gotta keep a diary of anytime it hearts and when i over exert myself. I posted that i was in the hospital just to give ya'll a heads up in case i wasn't able to post for a couple of days. Didn't want the campaign to get hung up with my sitting in the tavern the whole time.

Ekzier thinks on this for a moment, shrugs (why not, he could always use some extra gold, after all he was going to have to get some more to fund his crafting. But 50 pieces wasn't very much for guarding a shipment, especially one that these two were so intent on keeping safe).

"Sounds like something i just might want to do, what kind of goods are you bringing in? I'd like to know what i'd be protecting."

OOC: What's that all about anyway? You're only 22, how come you have heart problems?

Imotuyre continues to wait for Seren, she was growing impatient.

(Bleh, sorry. The heart problems and disguise self together distracted me, I sorta lost track.)

"Welllll," Meuric drawls, in response to Christi's question. "I think tha clothes yer wearin' now are fine. But if ya really wan' somethin' fancy, try Alis, pretty far down Crook's Lane. Ithel's got a pawn shop, ya might find SOMETHIN' there worth wearin', an' Ilar makes leather clothes, if yer so inclined for protection." He reflects on this, and adds, "Islywn might have some 'exotic' stuff."

The merchants introduce themselves. The first speaker is Naveed, and the latter is Harith. Not even waiting for a response, Naveed grabs Ekzier's hand and leads him out the door. Harith only waits long enough to leave payment for the food, and quickly catches up.

Jarvis quickly runs out after them, hiding in alleys, behind crates, and in one case, a rather confused sailor wondering why there's a cloaked person standing behind him.

As they walk towards the port, Naveed explains to Kemchi the importance of the shipment, but keeps it quiet enough that, in combination with trying to find hiding places, Jarvis can only make out bits and pieces of it. Khoz Romarr has had some trouble with Aurelius lately, and frankly, the two nations have never really gotten along. At the current rate, all-out war would be inevitable. But neither country would fare well invading the other-- One's protected by mountains, the other's in the middle of the desert. But a war would still take money from the traders, so in an effort to calm hostile emotions, a large shipment of, essentially, the Modan culture is being sent as a gift. Artwork, camels, food, and of course, money, are all being sent-- And it's much too large an investment to allow being stolen. They'd have their own people defending it, of course, but Khoz Romarr has few fighters to begin with; the desert is mostly, you know, deserted, so even caravans are rarely in danger.

Malzra enters the school, and the smell changes from water and fish to musty old books. And with good reason-- The walls and dozens of free-standing bookshelves are covered with tomes, journals, and the like. Aside from an occassional student grazing the shelves, as well as staircases going up on either side, it seems fairly devoid of other features.

Seren finally steps downstairs, yawning. Meuric nods in greeting, and hands an empty bowl to her. She doesn't even notice either Christi or Imoturye when she sits. She pulls a spoon from her bag and places it in the bowl, which immediately fills with the same gruel from yesterday. Not wasting time, she begins to eat.

Ekzier listens to the two merchants as they make their way through the city. As they walk along he takes note of all the buidlings they pass, was hard to see anything when he came in last nite. The city itself wasn't too bad looking, a nice city that might be worth spending some time in after this little errand from seren is done. Realizing he had drifted off into though Ekzier brings his focus back to the conversation in time to hear about camels and supplies and gold.

"Sounds like quite a shipment is being sent out. What would i be guarding and would it recquire me to be actually head towards the desert?

Harith laughs a little at the question, then speaks up, "I wish we were heading to the desert. No, we're going to the mountains. But all you need to do is stay here until the loading is done and keep a sharp look out for the scourge. We really didn't expect him to be here, and only a few of us even know what he looks like. You, at least, have met him. Just shout if you spot him-- We'll offer you any help we can. And, I mean no offense in this, but as you've associated with such a prominent thief, we'll be keeping an eye on you, too. Anyway, we expect to be done in a few hours, no more than five. After that, we'll give you your pay, and you've no need to come with us." He elbows Naveed lightly, then walks away. Naveed just smiles, as if to say "Please excuse him," and goes to talk to the sailors and guards.

As the two merchants head away, Ekzier heads towards the docks where the shipment will be coming in. ((50 pieces isn't a whole lot of gold, i mean heck it'd help, but maybe if i catch a thief they'll consider paying me some more)) Ekzier clutches his mace.....just in case. It was going to be a long 5 hours or so, and Ekzier could use something to pass the time. Ekzier looks around the ship that order had come in on.

Christi looks across the bar at Meuric, "So these simple clothes are fine? I just feel a little underdressed without my armor. I can see that you would also. What is that, chainmail?"

Jarvis follows Ekzier and the merchants until they split up. When they do, Jarvis makes sure he isn't seen by anyone, in a dark alley perhaps, and quietly speaks the command word to his Ring of Invisibility before following Harith as quietly as possible. If Harith ever finds himself "alone" and unwatched, Jarvis will attempt to ambush him, holding a dagger to his throat from behind (also, preferably in an alley).
My slow descent into madness seems to have abruptly become a flaming plunge.

Imotuyre gets up from her current seat and sits across from Seren. She quietly waits to get her attention, failing that she waits for her to finish her serving of gruel and says, "Good morning"

Meuric smirks and says, "Y'know, some of those patrons, they don' wanna pay. They get desperate. I've gotta protect myself, yeah? And yer clothes are... clothes. They cover ya up, that's enough."

Seren looks up at the Drow long enough to adknowledge her, and only nods in agreement to the "Good morning." She sets the spoon beside her bowl, and looks at it for a second.

"It tastes like cardboard, you know. But it certainly works; I don't pass out from exhaustion anymore." She looks up to Imoturye again. "You wanted to see the library, right? Almost everyone else left, so shall we go?" Seren places the spoon back into her bag, stands, waves to Meuric, and slowly walks out the door.

Harith has since taken up sitting on one of the smaller barrels. He wasn't used to this much standing about, it was making him tired.

Christi orders and eats her breakfast before heading out. She goes out looking for people that she can heal through the greatness of Pelor.
