The Chronicles of-- NO. Deities of Isakenaz
Re: The Chronicles of-- NO. Deities of Isakenaz
Ekzier continues to wander around the area he is guarding, keeping an eyeful watch on anything out of the ordinary. Casually inspecting the crates and boxes as he makes his way along. Dosn't hurt to know exactly what your guarding.

Imoturye follows Seren silently, before raising a question,"Why do you eat it? The gruel? You have proven your wealth, your power well enough, the day before this, by serving each of your companions a delicacy. Why not indulge yourself?

Christi doesn't have that much luck finding people in need of healing-- Most of the residents just go to the temples, after all. A few people she asks mention that some sailors may not have time to visit the temples.
Inside the crates and boxes, Ekzier mostly finds artwork. Fine silk rugs, painted stone tablets, and the like. Some of it is filled with expensive clothing.
"I've never been a fan of foods for taste. They're just... there. They keep you alive, but otherwise, there's no reason to indulge. The reason I eat the gruel is that it has more nutrients than anything naturally made ever could. So, I don't have to spend as much time eating." Seren looks up as she continues walking. "That and, like I had said, I've passed out a few times already from malnutrition. It's not a very pleasant experience."

"Or even worse are those times when I catch myself trying to twist his message to make it say what I want him to say, and then only hearing that. This can be a very subtle thing, and it is surprising how skillful I can be in doing it. Just by twisting his words a small amount, by distorting his meaning just a little, I can make it appear that he is not only saying the thing I want to hear, but that he is the person I want him to be." -Carl Rogers

Imoturye looks down to a ring on her right hand, and was about to say something, however thought against it and moved on, anxious to reach her destination.

Harith finally convinces himself that there's no point in worrying about Jarvis-- He was just passing through here! It was a coincidence. As he starts to get up to move to a more crowded area (Never can be too safe-- Besides, the sailors need directing!), he feels a sensation of cold steel against his neck. Jarvis becomes clearly visible, standing behind him and holding a dagger.
Ekzier, of course, is too busy looking in crates to notice. None of the guards notice, either, as they're too busy heckling the sailors for not working harder.
"... Wh--?" He winces from the blade cutting into his throat as he speaks. He speaks, again, but much, much quieter. "What do you want?"
Christi's finally found someone that needs healing! A sailor threw out his back while transporting a crate. He forgot that you're supposed to lift with the knees!
As he searches the shelves, he finds a several books detailing the sinking of Brynmor. The first claims that Brynmor was devoted to Erishkigal, and that Adonis sank it to allow his followers to take hold of the trading opportunities. Another claims the same story, but with the deities switched around. Two of them claim that the people of the first Brynmor worshipped old, false gods, and that's why the city sank, but neither gives evidence of temples.
Seren and Imoturye quietly step into the building. Staying silent, Seren nods to Malzra, then proceeds upstairs.

Ekzier continues to wander around the area, checking the crates to insure that they are still intact and investigating the contents of the ones that are open. Casually wathcing the workers to make sure no one is stealing anything.
OOC: Can i see Jarvis and the trader from here? or are they blocked by the crates and boxes?

Jarvis speaks quietly but with such intensity that he may as well be screaming at the trader.
"I want to know what you are doing here. Romarrian traders never come this far. And what's this nonsense about the 'Scourge of Modan?' I've never done any of the things you claim. Speak quickly and quietly and you may yet live."

My slow descent into madness seems to have abruptly become a flaming plunge.

Malzra curses under his breath, but contradictions such as these were somethign he was used to. He searched his memory, tryign to remember if his master had ever mentioned anything about sunken ruins under this city
ooc: Knowledge arcana check (assumeing you would deem this arcana, of course :p i would only say that it was because it seems like it would fit under the catagory of "ancient mysteries" part of knowledge arcana)

(Ekzier can't see the two, but a bit more walking around and he'll happen upon them eventually.
(Also, the temple, like many things in this world, falls under multiple categories. You'll be able to make a complete check with just one of them, although you might be missing something which more closely fits another category. Like the necklace's rune has both divine and arcane uses; a knowledge (arcana) check would only give the arcane uses. In this case, given the nature of Brynmor's sinking and what happened to fix it, I can count it as arcana.)
Harith keeps his voice low enough that the guards don't hear him. "We're giving a gift to Aurelius. One that will keep Khoz Romarr out of war, not that a thief like you would care-- More goods for you to take. And I wouldn't believe your lies for a second. I've heard the rumors. You've ruined caravans in the blink of an eye. But please, please, please don't steal anything from here. It means a lot more than you could possibly care about... I can pay you not to."
Malzra remembers brief mention of sunken ruins. The ruins below Brynmor have mostly been avoided; Rumors of 'swamp monsters' keep people out of it. He also remembers mention of a vengeful water spirit sinking buildings, although he can't remember where this was supposed to have taken place.
The second floor is very much like the first. More students are walking around, but it's still quite bare. Seren continues going up another flight, leading to a series of long hallways, each multiple doors on either side. Stopping at room 303, she walks to the far corner and takes a seat at a desk, which has a platinum amulet on it. Looking back to Imoturye, she says:
"This is where the school does its enchantments and experimentations. Each one of these rooms is considered a lab in its own right. Most of them are open-door, too, so you might notice something unique. The next floor up is living quarters and administration. Just thought you'd like to know, since I'll be here for a while with nothing exciting happening. Now, if you'll excuse me..." She turns back to the amulet, places both hands on it, and begins chanting.

"Very well". Imoturye searches the current floor for anything of interest.
OOC: Spellcraft/Knowledge/Listen/Spot/TehWorks checks on anything of interest...
OOC2: Was intending to do the book-hunting thing Malzra's doing, but since I reckon he has the same knowledge checks as me + bardic knowledge, then we're covered in that department.
OOC3: Also I wanted to ask you about that raid on the underwater temple...I can't swim!
