Rockwell cards aren't supported under kernel 2.6 yet, and the ALSA project has been dragging their feet getting the riptide driver up to snuff.
I had that dream again. My world was black as night. Plagued by visions of a future world, I sang about these dreams, warning man of his demise. Wasted words that no one heard...

I know the truth is out there...

Well! I use Ubuntu at home and I've had little to no problems with it.
The problem is that your parts might not be recognized and that might happen with any distro.

If you have a wi-fi card you are already starting off in shacky ground.

I have one, but luckily it's supported.
Your net connection can be configurated on System>Administration>Networking.

I recently switched my work laptop over to Linux. There's nothing better than freeing yourself from the crap that is Symantec and the stupid asset software they force you to run under Windows. Java really is useful for something!

Ah, I love Linux. Nothing like programs being able to continue running, even after you accidently deleted all their libraries out from under them.

Until you attempt to restart them.

Use "rm -rf" with care. ><

Edit: "java.lang.Object cannot be found, and is referenced by..." Hehe.
