Grilled Cheese vs Toasted Cheese
Grilled cheese, with white American cheese and tomatoes. Cut into thirds, and served with pickles.

What's the difference between Grilled and Toasted?

I assume we are comparing a cheese sandwich prepared in a toaster oven versus that prepared in a pan over the stovetop.
As far as the cheese itself, I don't think there is much difference, but the bread will be 'greasier' in the pan-grilled mode.

I refuse to accept "American cheese" as a real cheese. You want cheese? Get some nice Colby Cheddar or a good Monterey Jack for the basics, and work up from there.

If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.
I refuse to accept "Martin Blank" as a professional knower of things. How you like them apples?
Seriously, we're too broke to actually have high end cheeses in our sandwiches. Plus, American cheese serves just fine in grilled cheese. I wouldn't have it any other way.
