Wow. They must be pretty damn clever to know every time where the hunters are, where they're facing, and such, to bolt in a way that everyone in the group always or even usually have to turn into blind spots to fire...

Oh, I can believe you miss them a couple times they go up they'll go all over the place except in front of you ... but what I'm having a hard time buying is that they never, or even "only rarely", fly up from or even through the established field of fire for the group of hunters as they're oriented without having to turn beyond the hundred and ... twenty? ... degrees or so of the field of vision in front of them.

You do realize I don't mean "exactly right in front of you", but "the path of their flight within range passes anywhere within roughly 80* left or right of right in front of you", right?

so yeah, pretty much 160-180 degrees. Yeah.. anything is possible :-p but if something is 80 degrees to your right, you are still going to swing and shoot.. and may hit someone..

Struck, I don't think you're getting how fast and how difficult it can be to hunt birds - if you can, go to a local clay pidgeon field and watch for a couple of minutes, and keep in mind that the Clay's are traveling in a straight line.

But if I'm half-turned away from the thrower, and they pull without me yelling, just the sound of it firing, I can hit it well enough as it comes through my field of vision ... epsecially if it were a cluster of pigeons, not just a single one.

What? Am I just good?

I'm aware of that, mike. :P

I'll draw a diagram and post it, or something. Seems to be hard to explain in just text.

But what matters is that we finally got an answer to that question that Cheney asks himself all the time...

"Is Dick Cheney gonna have to smoke this bitch?"

Come on, you know he thinks it. :P
