Ive actually considered getting a big cheap apartment, live in one room and grow shitloads of weed in the rest. Since growing it outside is hard, its more expensive. Might actually be worth it :)
I know somebody who did that - he converted the whole place to a hydroponics farm. The electric bills were outrageous. You'd be AMAZED at how many plants you can get into a studio apartment. Most of the ones doing this though rent a two bedroom, and convert the smaller bedroom into a "farm"

Deacon, that's one way, but the most common of weed sellers I knew were buying from guys in Upstate NY, New Jersey, etc, usually farmers, that were growing some "cash crop" on the side.

No, try to not be obtuse.

There are alot of farmers in Western Jersey, and Southern NY, that like to have, shall we say "additional forms of income"? Then there are the big time weed growers up in places like BC, where they grow thousands of plants at a time. Then there are the local small time operators, like the guy I mentioned(who had the odd nick of "George Chaos"), who grow it in either rented apartments or in their houses.

In recent years, Staten Island has become something of a hotbed for growing marijuana - There are alot of lots, and green spaces, alot of it owned by the city, basically sitting there unused. Then there's the dump. When they were hauling the remnents of the WTC to be buried in the former Fresh Kills landfill(which had been closed by that time), they discovered over 600 lbs of weed growing. The landfill is over 3000 acres, it was the largest in the world. I bet there's a helluva lot more growing in there.

Growing weed isnt supposed to be very complex...it really is supposed to be treated like a 'weed'

Anyway, there is a huge Hemp farm not too far from Toronto. Classes from my school go there :) Although hemp does not equal weed....I'm not sure what my point was.

Oh yes!
Lots of grow-ops in Canada. As for a plant being worth $2k? That seems high. Pun not intended. I did hear that when police estimate the value of something, its not just its streetvalue, I think it had to do with somethign else as well. Like when you hear of 1 million work of cocaine being seized at the border, thats not how much it would sell for on the streets or something to that extent. I'll try to check up on this later. Since I *know* I read/heard about it from somewhere.

Basically, they apply retail price to wholesale quantity.

Sugar is retail, $1.00 a pound, when you buy it buy the pound.

When you buy it by the dump truck load, it drops to 10 cents a pound. So while you may have only paid $5000 for your load of sugar, it has a "street" value of $50,000.
That's around $2000 a plant, for the math challenged. Is weed really that valuable?
And the article wrote:
A single plant can produce about a pound of marajuna, with a street value of about $2000.
Math or reading challenged, evidently.

I really don't think weed is that expensive. A quarter here is $20. I could get it for less but that is besides the point. The most i've ever heard of was some kid bought a dime of i forgot what type for $70 (which is crazy). The point is i really don't think it is that expensive.

A quarter what?

And I thought a "dime bag" was a $10 bag.

I heard form somebody is that how they determine how much a plant is worth is by how many watts the light used to grow it was. He is a huge stoner but i really don't think that is correct. he did say that the plants can be worth alot though.

How much longer can it possibly be before Marijuana gets legalized. I don't and have never partook myself, but I see more an more people who either do, or don't care. Heck, if the legislation didn't contain a bunch of stupidity, I would probably even vote for it.

I have a hard time supporting legalization of Marajuiana because most of the people I knew who supported it did more than MJ... in a very bad way. They also liked to support things I am wholly against, such a socialism, free abortions, communal living (read:communal sex mates), and some other stuff I've completely forgotten.

I do love the idea of "If you decriminalize Marajuiana, the crime rates will go down". Duh. If something isn't illegal anymore, all the people who would have been jailed for it no longer get arrested (at least for that law).
