If it's been mentioned several times before, it's not funny any more. In fact, chances are it wasn't to begin with. The 'fap fap fap' you're hearing is either the dead horse you're beating or the load of wank you're conjuring

Stop 'warning' new posters about the wacky antics of established forumers. No-one is scary, hazardous or dangerous. It's a forum.

I swear, intro threads are now more likely to mutate into hymns for established posters nowadays rather than a way and means of actually getting to know the new guy.

Welcome threads are a time honored tradition for the people who want to appear wise, or attention-whoring, to let n00bs know straight up. If you're new, who cares? Post something interesting to make people discuss, otherwise it reverts to lowest common denominator/HTRN. Or some infantile muffin/poke/monkey issue.
