I hate Coldplay
That is why I switched from a trendy 'alternative' rock station to a classic rock station that plays stuff I actually LIKE.
Of course, I also operate a nazi-like policy with my MP3 player. If I hear it 3 times and don't like it, out it goes.
Or if I skip over it for fully a week, not wanting to hear it.

[quote="sneaky ninja";p="633161"]Man, I didn't realize there were so many other Coldplay-haters out there. If I never hear a Coldplay song again in my life, it will be too soon.
My friends in college all LOVED them, for seemingly no other reason then that they're "unique". What they've apparently yet to understand is that "unique" is not synonymous with "good"

I love Coldplay. *ducks*
But then, I'm the first to admit that my taste in music is not based on quality or...anything. Actually, my mp3 collection consists of over 1000 songs. Some of which would have most of you cringing where you stand/sit. Most of which, maybe.
I'm not envious of those with more taste. After all, if it took more to please me, wouldn't I be happy less often?

Honestly, that's the most fucking retarded album name ever. It barely squeezes the new Tool album out, and knocks the new Disturbed down to a solid third. Honestly, there are only a few U2 songs that I like, other than that I find Bono's voice to just be annoying and their music to be sub-par.

I don't like coldplay.. Never really paid much attention to them but I saw them live at a festival last May and well... The only reason I sat through it was because no one else wanted to leave. IT WAS SO BORING!
I tend to be extremely open minded about music. I listen to everything... or at least appreciate it all. There are some bands however I just don't really like. Springsteen (music's ok but I think he could do more or Asbury Park.)
U2 (I like Sunday Bloody Sunday but the rest... eh.)
Elvis (meh)
My Chemical Romance (I saw them live before they were big and obviously wasn't impressed because I didn't remember them until I found the ticket stub. Then I saw them when they played with Green Day and hated them because they have the SHITTIEST stage so EVER)

Some friends (mostly from work) try to get together and have a movie night once every week or two, and I decided people needed to see Equilibrium (great movie). I could've sworn I owned it, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so I went to Wal-Mart on the way to the guy's house to pick it up if they had it. Well, it turns out they didn't have it, but on my way back I passed by a huge bargain bin of DVDs. Well lo and behold, one DVD caught my eye as I was walking past, and old DVD I didn't even know they made: U2's Rattle and Hum. It was originally released in 1988, and apparently they eventually transferred it to DVD. I immediately snagged it and bought it. It turns out the sound, while still only stereo, was at least digitally mastered for the DVD. Sweet
I watched through some of it the next day and was reminded about how much I love U2, especially the old stuff. It's great music. I love their style. You may not know or realize it, but U2 has greatly influenced an entire generation of music. They find a groove and wash you in it for a while. They start off simple and build up. Rattle and Hum is a concert movie, almost a documentary of their tour after The Joshua Tree, and it shows them in Harlem with a black gospel choir doing I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, which was fantastic.
For those of you who were too young or have obviously shitty memories, see if you can pick yourself up a copy and give it a watch. At LEAST pick up The Joshua Tree and/or Rattle and Hum. Maybe you're someone who has a very narrow spectrum of music you listen to and can't appreciate anything else, but to call U2 untalented, hacks, or whiney is patently inaccurate.

Yes, I did. Fixed now. That'll teach me to form a sentence, then go back and re-form it to complete my thought, and then not proof it afterwards :/

They've got some good songs, but most ancient bands does.
