Tab has been reborn as an energy drink, like a Red Bull.

Yeah, go ahead, TRY not to believe me. It costs way too much, comes in tiny cans, and doesn't even do half the job of a good cup of bean.

Sigh... I feel bad for you all. All talking about Dr. Pepper. None of you ever had the chance to try Doc Vernor's back when it was made how it is supposed to be, and not some watered down crap by the 7up people.

Now THAT was a soft drink.

Dear Lord I'm old. I remember when Tab was sold in the vending machine next to where I used to live. And in the machine next to it? Moon pies! Just the thought of those now makes my blood sugar spike. :)

You can find Tab here from time to time. It's making a comeback, just like other 80's stuff. My childhood is haunting me. :)

Yes, moon pies have elicited tears from many a person...

Anyone remember Crystal Pepsi? that was rather decent, for a cola-type product. Considering I generally hate colas, that's saying a lot. Of course, I was about... 8 at the time, I think.

My all-time favorite is actually Mello Yello... something that seems to only exist in certain places in the US. It's basically Coke's Version of Mt. Dew. I think we actually complained enough in SD to stop the venemous spread of Surge (remeber that stuff? It was green and tasted like sugar) and bring back the Mello Yello.

I also like Diet Code Red. It's the only Diet Mt. Dew that doesn't taste like crap, as far as I'm concerned. Great for my no sugar diets, when I have to be on them.

Surge was NASTY! Does anyone remember Jolt? I don't know if it's even still around...

And thanks, Metz...now I have "they call me mellow yellow" in my head!

I remember Jolt Cola (and several different varieties) being sold at the 7-11 near where I went to college. I'm fairly sure you can still find it in gas stations around here, although I don't recall seeing it in the super market recently.

I was never a fan of it, but I remember church trips with the pastor's son drinking the stuff. He's funny when he's hyper! :)
