Surely anyone advocating the legalisation of paedophilia (as these "people" are) should simply be rounded up and shot.

Aw, how cute, it's the Dutch version of NAMBLA (National Man-Boy Love Association)!

Given how successful NAMBLA has been in advocating their "cause" (not at all) I doubt that this Dutch version will have much success either.

Then again, this is Europe we're talking about, here, the Netherlands specifically. Do you really think the fine folks in Amsterdam hold the same views and values of the general US population?

Pish, the Dutch may be a bit more liberal, but they're not insane.

If it were going to happen ANYWHERE, it'd probably happen in Japan. They're NUTS!

Blaze are you aware of the age of consent in Japan? I think it's pretty much already happened there.

I love the long list of nasty things the party stands for, especially the last one: "free train travel for all"

I could see them now: "We're not bad! We just want to let children experience sex and travel for free!"

Here's a list of age of consent
http://encyclopedia.laborlawtalk.com/Age_of_consent

# Japan: 13 nationwide, 16 to 18 in most prefectures; however, age of marriage for a female with parental approval is 16.

# Netherlands: 16; Only prosecutable after complaint of minor

Interesting. Complaint of Minor. Meaning if the parent/guardian complains nothing can be done?

Meaning that if a 6 year old doesn't complain nothing can be done? So much for the parents having any say in the upbringing of a child.

Or 14 for that matter. Never mind that children have been abused and forced into silence however many times.

On the other hand, there's all the cases where no one was hurt but the parents wanted to press the case, anyway, over the legitimate objections of the minor.

Hm. I wonder how it would work if anyone could complain and start a case, but the victim could have the charges dropped..

Brings up the possibility of intimidating the victim to not press charges or to have the charges dropped. Easiest to leave it with the DA to use his/her own common sense or up to a jury.

Oh, yeah, that's really trustworthy. No one ever got a rap as a sex offender for simply having carnal relations with their significant other. Nope.
