ecsesive much?

Post by Eihger » Tue Apr 22, 2003 12:59 am

If you are playing Civilasation III and you are the domonant contry and your at war with some one on the main land, along with you, and you are twice their size, is it ecsesive to have 19 mech infantry 20 modern armors and conquer 8 cities in a time of four turns and still and 95% survival rating?

Alpha Centauri is fun, too.
Democracy the easy way: The amount of votes you get in elections for Supreme Ruler is directly proportional to the amount of citizens you have.
You vote no? Well tough ****. I have 3 times more votes than the rest of you put together.
What's that? You don't agree?
Oh, look at that, my army's flattened you.

I also like creating a new atlantis, by terraforming someone's city into the sea.

I hate to say it, but in Civ 2 I always found Fundamentalism the way to go. I managed to make everyone so brainwashed into thinking that they were happy that I had enough money to spend a ton of cash on my science advances. Not so with Civ 3 though, I guess that is why I don't like it as much :(

In Alpha Centauri I usually play Zharkov and run fundy+green+knowledge+eudiamonia. I'm weird that way.

But then, I gain a tech everyother turn until I reach Orbital Spaceflight. Then I go for more logical and productive schemes while I nuke all other players.

Excessive to have 19 mechinized infantry and 20 modern armor?! Heck, I usually have at least 30 modern armor and start wars with people who just plain annoy me near the end. I also love Alpha Centauri. The University or the cybernetic collective (from alien crossfire) were the only factions I liked to play. I am always amazed more much time those games can suck away from you.
Those are my thoughts. Fire away.

You know, you could just modify the game to suit your tastes. I do it.

I love playing as the Vikings on an island, then wreaking havoc with my Beserkir. It really is best to dominate a continent in Civ3. Unlike Civ2, you can't really build a string of forts to protect large land borders.

In my current game, I started out well behind as the Romans, but pulled ahead through conquest and investment in improvements. Now I'm selling advances to China (my strongest rival) for crippling gold per turn. (As much as 300! Remember, that lasts for 20 turns. I love gold per turn.
