I'm new, and I dunno how I got here

Post by jYc » Wed Aug 09, 2006 2:12 am

actually, I do know how I got here... I got outta work really early today, went home, and became bored after playing some world of warcraft. anyway, long story short, I googled "real life forums" because reading forums can be interesting, usually when talking about Real Life cuz we all have problems, interests, etc. etc. Well, I didn't even know there was a thing called real life forums but seems cool... We'll see. well, anyway, I'm just writing this to let the ones who care (and who're actually reading this..) know that I exist... but really....

see u guys on the forums.

edit: fixed my spelling (and I have pretty bad grammar so not sure where I went wrong sorry!) By the way, do I need to capitalize, too? because that's so annoying to do.. ):

Welcome.

This forum actually spawns from the comic "Real Life Comic" by Greg Dean, there's a link at the top of every page to it, and here's another one for you: http://www.reallifecomics.com/

Try to use correct spelling & grammar, it'll make your time here a lot more pleasant. i.e. you instead of 'u', I instead of 'i' and capital letters & full stops will alway help you make friends.

I'm not trying to be mean, and I wasn't overly picky. I'm just trying to show you (using an example of your own writing) the level generally acceptable around here. So people are better, many are worse but if you try to stick to about that level you shouldn't be harrassed about it. :) You may want to stop using so many '...' but that's more of a personal irk.

Anyway, where are you from & how old are you? (it helps us if you fill in your profile so we know these things). Nice photo too.

I used to write all nice-like on the forums but there really isn't a generally accepted writing format on the forums I've read (usually for gamers) so over the years, I've downgraded and gotten used to typing like this. lol

But yea, I really didn't introduce myself. I'm bad at that. I'm 21, will be 22 on the 30th of this month, and I'm from NY (Queens). I just graduated from college in May, and have started working since June 30th... so far, so good. I work for an investment bank so I can officially call myself an i-banker now, even though I'm at the very bottom of the totem pole as an analyst ! lol (: Welp, anything else you wanna know, feel free to ask. I'm going to read some of these comics now that I know what this forum is dedicated to.

Why is it when I leave New York that all of the girls from the area come onto the boards to say something?

Hi, jYc, nice to meet someone on the forums who's across the river (fyi, I'm in NJ). Gotta admit, it would be nice to live in the City, but pretty damn expensive to live there. Oh well, I can settle for just visiting it.

Shoot, that reminds me, I haven't been to Canal Street in ages, although me and some friends plan on visiting Manhatten soon again considering there's an all you can eat sushi/sashimi place for $20 bucks.

I semi-work in the City, if you count having to drop off patients at places such as Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and various other hospitals. Although I did pick up a patients off a Carnival Cruise ship, that was an interesting experience.

By the way, if you are bored, I would recommending reading through the comic archives.
Yo Mav, I'm real happy for you and Imma let you finish but Hirschoff had the best sig trends of all time.

I come from 6 generations of New Yorkers, and I'm looking to get out as soon as possible.

Virtually everybody I know has either moved out, or is planning to.
