Can't seem to pass enough
This all starts in my junior high school. I was in a private school that didn't need to follow regulations, so it could teach what it wanted. Well I was in the right math class at the time, they called it Pre-Algebra, but really it was much more advanced; more like pre-calculus. Since it was a private school they could call it what ever they wanted. I passed the classes, 7th and 8th grade math classes, and all was well. I had a better education than most kids at my age, and was happy about it. I graduated and thus ended my middle school life.
That was when I lived in Nebraska. Before I started highschool we moved to Arizona, different education systems. Since I took my advanced math courses in junior high, they wouldn't count them, and instead placed me right into algebra. This was my freshman year at a school in my home district. I passed the class and figured I'd eventualy get to where I left off. Oh how I was wrong.
My sophmore year I went to a different school, in a different district, to take a two year class in 3D animation. There was a little charter school on the campus, that qualified for a highschool. I figured I'd stay on campus all day instead of bussing back to my old school. (since the schedule just wouldn't work) Well low and behold, my transcripts didn't transfer right away, so what happend? I was placed in algebra! Later we got the transcripts fixed up, but I had to finish the second semester, which I passed both semesters. I tried seeing if I could test out of the class, but the staff told me I couldn't. I tried again and again to get into a high math class, but to no avail.
Not sure how many of you know about the AIMS, but it's a test required to graduate highschool ( but they're thinking about not making it required, but thats a different and long story) Well I passed all areas with exceeds, especialy math. So for my Junior year I was exempt from taking a math course. I asked them if this was right, and they said yes. If I wanted to take a math class it would have to be algebra. The only higher math class they had was Algebra 2, whcih I couldn't take because it was in the morning and I had my 3D Animation class then. I had no math class Junior year.
My senior year I went back to my old school, since I finished the two year course. I figure since I did well on the AIMS I could take a better math class, nope. They changed somethings about the AIMS around, thusly screwing all those that passed the SAT for retards. That basicaly means no advanced math course, but it gets better. My transcripts didn't transfer over, AGAIN! What we ended up doing was seeing if there is a way for me to get into a higher math course. They tell me that I need to take a test to qualify to get into a dual credit class, but when it comes to getting my schedule and making minor tweaks before the school year, they tell me I don't need to take the test and they'll put me in the class. I was so excited to be in pre-calc, I was practicaly jumping happy to go to school. Well remeber how my transcripts didn't transfer over? After about two weeks they catch this little mistake and oust me from pre-calc saying I didn't have the prerequisits, and where do they put me? Algebra. I go to the counclor to see if I can fix the transcipt errors to prove I've been in the class before, but intrestinly enough, because the last two years were at a different school district they won't count most of the credits.
I am a senior in highschool, in Algebra for the 4th time, with 6 credits. 6 out of the 21 needed to graduate. I don't think I will graduate highschool early. What bites me the most is I've shown them that I've passed the class before, and I've had more advanced math courses before, but in middle school, but they wont count that because it was in middle school, and in a different state. Am I doing something wrong? Please tell me I fucked up some where so I don't feel like I'm going insane. The hardest math I took was 5 years ago. I was doing quadratics, trajectories, hell some triganometry as well. In my senior year I have yet to get passed "complex" things like fining domain and range in a graph, and figuring out if a graph is a function. I have passed Algebra 4 times, only to take it again.

Have you talked about transfering (yes again) to a charter school? I don't know where you are exactly (in the valley, right?) but there are some excellent charter schools in the Phoenix area that will test you for placement in math instead of relying on transcripts and all that. The school I would suggest checking out is North Pointe Prep http://preptv.org/ It's an awesome school.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I am from AZ and went to the schools. We here have a poor education system when it comes to credits and just all around learning experiance. (I'm just talking about public schools) I had the same problem in my math classes, but the difference is I went to one jr high and one high school. But each year, regardless of me passing the math class, I could not get past "general math" or pre-algebra. I was never moved up regardless. Now luckily I don't need much math right now, but I am one hell of an adder/subtractor/multiplier if you ask me. :p

i don't hate everyone equally, there are levels. but none of them are the traditionally thought of standards for predjudice. its not based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation its based on how much the person annoys me personally. i count you as a friend since you annoy me very little. brittney spears is an enemy because even though i don't know her/care about her at all she still finds a way to annoy me every time i turn on the tv

Seriously, what mike said.
If you have to, write to the senators, congressmen, govenor, whomever will take up your cause. It's absolutely ridiculous for you to take the same math class 4 times. There has to be someway to get around it. I, personally, would take you into my class if you told me you had taken Algebra before and had the test scores to prove it. Talk to anyone in authority that might be of some help. Make large campaign donations. Blackmail someone. You'll get there somehow.

I am going to be a pain in their ass starting next week. Once I'm 18 I'll think about taking this to a court for then withholding my education, but I hadn't thought of contacting my senator. That's really a good idea. Thanks
