Ok, so I was asleep by around 12:30, which is good. I have an 8 am bio lab.

And then...
THE FIRE ALARM WENT OFF AT 1 AM. JESUS CORNHOLING CHRIST.
I have never heard such an unholy, high-pitched wail in my LIFE. IT MADE MY EARS VERY UNHAPPY.
And then we had to evacuate. I was one of the smart ones. I grabbed a hoodie. Even so, it was cold as balls out there and I shivered. SHIVERED.
Then again, that's nothing compared to the people who were showering when the alarm went off. :/ And the people who sleep in their underwear and didn't think to grab so much as a pair of sweatpants before running outside.

And then, as I was finally allowed inside (the building has 4 floors, and they let us back in from the top floor down, and I live on the first floor), I heard one of the Desk Receptionists going "cold out there? Wouldn't know. I got to stay in here while they searched the place to find the source of the alarm :D"

AND THEN I KILLED THEM ALL AND CAUSED AN UNHOLY RAIN OF BLOOD. Except I didn't. But I seriously wanted to, and that has to count for something.
This guy got busted for pulling fire alarms while I was at Lackland AFB ('92)... he pulled them at women's dorms late at night so he could watch them run outside half dressed. Perhaps he's found his way to your area.

92 eh? Was there in 96.

Course, my flight was co-ed so I didn't have to pull stunts to see girls at basic.

Eh, it's only fun for about a semester. Live just off campus (I'm within walking distance of mine), then you get the perks of living near campus with out all the rules.

Well, at the moment I'm an hour from campus. So anything is better than this.

Yea, my first semester I was about 45 minutes away, that did kind of suck.

I had a run in with a fire alarm at college yesterday too. Though in my story there's an actual fire in one of the Chem labs of the building my US History class is in and I get out of an hour and 15 minute class a half an hour early.

Also, everytime I hear a story like this I remind myself of the perks of only taking showers early in the morning.

*insert 'real men of genius' track from the beer adverts here*

But fire alarms are exactly why I keep warm clothing within reach of my bed at all times, as well as my boots, and if sleeping in communal areas, my wallet and other valuables buried in the pile.

Pah. I keep it trapped, so that any rummaging in the pile disturbs me.

Seriously. It requires shifting about 10-15lb of piled chain out of a boot before finding the wallet.

Haha...I think everyone must come through here in San Antonio once or twice in their life :)

You have questionable fashion sense.

Ahhhh the memories. :/

Our building had so many fake alarms that at one point the idiots setting them off managed to distract the fire service from a genuine house fire. After that they stopped, that may have also been the threat of fines from the fire service, which would have come out of our damage deposits.

Oh and the time it got set off while I was doing my Lauren thing. Thank god I hadn't bothered with makeup at the time and only had to very quickly change.

Our flat (not me specifically, I always washed it after the rare occasions I used it) managed to set fire to our grill pan due to not keeping it clean after use. That was one of the few genuine alarms we had.

I went back in 96 to watch my brother's basic graduation ceremony. Puts a whole new spin on things when you're not there for basic training. But I can't say I'm a huge fan of the city, really. It just never felt like my kind of place.

Questionable by who's standards? That style's pretty common these days for teens, and has been rather common in the hard rock / metal crowd since the 80's. Hell, I just want to know where to get a nice 10-15lb chain like that, lol...

I'll probably regret asking but... what?

BtEO is male, by birth. Occasionally he crossdresses, and he calls his female persona "Lauren".

I call him RL, so that no matter which gender he is at a particular time, I'm correct. :)
