Entirely grotesque things
Entirely grotesque things
Post things that gross, freak, or other wise * you out, so that we may laugh at your girly reaction.
Today, I decided to get my boots out and ready for the winter. Generally speaking, we keep them in the garage over the summer, so that if there's flooding or what have you, they're on hand. But I haven't worn them since last winter.
So I pulled them out, checked the laces, then started to put something on, when I felt something hard down inside one of them. I wasn't too afraid, because if it were a spider or something, it would have moved. So I reached down in and pulled it out.
Dead. Petrified. Frog.
FREAKING MUMMY FROG! AAAAGHGH! In my hand! SO GROSS! <little girl screech>

Edit: Yeah, that's a bit much for displaying here. I've left it as a link for the more curious who want to see what an infant with harlequin icthyosis (a genetic defect leading to malformed skin that shows up at birth) looks like.
Though you did kind of ask for it, Blaze. You should have known someone would find the line and kick sand across it quickly. -- Martin

Seir, was posting that without a link or warning or anything really necessary?
"He who lives by the sword dies by my arrow."
"In your histories, there are continual justifications for all manner of hellish actions. Claims of nobility and heritage and honor to cover up every bit of genocide, assassination, and massacre. At least the Horde is honest in their naked lust for power."

This huge spider just scuttled across the floor into the kitchen, big, leggy brown thing. They always freak me out.
So I threw a newspaper at it, stepped on it a bit, and pounded it with a boot. I'll take a picture for the spider ID thread if I can work up the nerve to lift the paper, and if there's anything recognisable left.

You can SORTA make it out. Bit blurry, bit flat, but...

You can still see blood, so it's still a bloody malformed skin baby in my opinion.

Yes, it says that they can bleed upon birth, but as far as anyone can see, that baby is not bleeding in that picture.
Now if we're going to dwell upon the whole bloody/bleeding thing, to bleed would have to imply that blood is flowing outside/spilling from the blood vessels.
Are you forgetting that arteries are *red* in color?

Oh shut up. It's not that big a fucking deal, OK? There's no blood where it's not supposed to be. It's an old, generally well-known condition which, yes, can be shocking at first, but isn't an earth-shattering or gratuitously gross image. ESPECIALLY when this THREAD was created called ENTIRELY GROTESQUE THINGS.
The follies which a man regrets the most in his life are those which he didn't commit when he had the opportunity. - Helen Rowland, A Guide to Men, 1922
