Even without Claires regeneration powers Sylar is one tough bastard. Remember that Matt shot him 3 times early on and he kept on trucking. If you consider the graphic novels to be part of cannon then you know he didn't just deflect them. Hiro could just have THOUGHT he killed.
Also, the one brief flash of an isaac painting with Hiro stabbing Sylar showed him not only not "blowing up" but stabbing him in the chest. The scar MAY still be from Hiro's sword but I don't think it was a slip up when he thought he was stabbing Sylar. If I remember correctly, Hiro said he stabbed him, THEN he regenerated, and later he blew up.

K, so this is only the end of the season. In a way, I'm glad. It's a fun series, and it's rather good. On the other hand, there have been too many shows that were good but that got dragged out too long and ended up sucking by the time they were canceled.

It's likely just the nuclear ability from Ted.

No, the ability Peter showed when he was in the future was defiantly Psychokinesis. You could see the flames coming from his hands. When Ted does his power, it is more just a flash of light.

So, pertaining to tonight's episode...

SPOILERS
Why is Peter having such trouble controlling Ted's power when he's been anticipating it for what I suspect is weeks, having already figured out the "key" to controlling other powers he's absorbed?

Another question: If Peter gleaned telekinesis from Sylar, who took that power from somebody else, why doesn't he have the other powers Sylar had when they encountered each other in Texas, like cryokinesis? You'd think he'd have noticed by now.

Last question: Okay, looks like Hiro's screwed again. Who gets the feeling Ted might have something to do with fixing the sword?

Spoilers

I think since Sylar stole the powers, Peter can only mimic the power that he was using. Peter's power from how I see it is to mimic the powers of the people around him and then recall them at a later date. Sylar's power is to alter his DNA after examining the brain of the other heroes. When Peter met Sylar, his DNA was encoded to do the telekinesis so that is what Peter got.

And the thing with Ted and Peter. Just like everyone, Peter has to learn to use it. When he gets a new power he was to learn to use it just like the original person did. As you have noticed, Ted almost went nuclear once. Peter liked he was not be able to stop it just like Ted was not able too.

It also may vary as to the strength of the powers. Some powers are much stronger than others. Ex: Time Manipulation vs. That chick that Hiro fell for that could remember anything. Hers is much les powerful than a lot of others. Maybe the stronger it is the harder to control?

I think it'd be hilarious if he got Hiro's power and would like...sneeze and stop time.

I just wanna know if he's able to control it, and change the timeline.

I think he will, 'cause the whole series has been building up to it. Otherwise that would be kinda odd.

I don't think he will. Not before he explodes anyway. I think it will play out JUST as we saw in the future. I think that the fight between Peter and Sylar will get resolved with Peter the winnar! The next set of Heroes will have to deal with the problems in a society that was steps away from Genocide when they realized that their "President" was a mutie too.

I'm guessing that Peter will explode, but the difference that "saves the world" is that they are able to kill Sylar. If they can do that, then the real Nathan would be the president and not someone who is insane to "kill all mutants."

The real Sylar doesn't actually want to exterminate mutants, but rather to absorb all their powers.
