Well at least THAT should be large enough to hold many people.

*cough*

And cheap too.

I still want to have people out to my cabin sometime soon, perhaps the end of this summer. I'm talking to a guy about getting broadband put it. It's rough, due to the location, but I think it can be done.

There is always the thought of a larger house or two houses depending on interest of course.

Well, right now we're at the "Everyone looks like they had so much fun, I want to go too!" stage where everybody "just has to go" next year. As we get closer it'll quiet down to a more manageable level.

I suspect we will have more than 10 who want to attend, though.

I too suspect such a decision would be rather unpopular.

Renting two houses would be way too expensive. That would work out to at least $4000.00. Renting a larger house is a possibility. I agree that having too many people can be a negative thing, having 10 (plus the four of us) is a pretty good number. The max number we had this year was 17, and that did get very crowded, we almost ran out of table space!

Blaze, you are welcome to have your own meet at your cabin, but we will likely never host an official one there. Too few bed space (who wants to sleep on the floor or outside for 8 days?), it's out in the middle of nowhere, no reliable internet access, and a host of other reasons. It's a great thought and would be perfect for something small for a few days, but 14+ people for 8 days it just wouldn't work.

Actually, it's got more bed space than the cabin in NC, but yeah, I never intended it to be an official. I've told Jarrod more times than I can count that I know thats his deal, and I'm not trying to infringe or anything.

I didn't realize you had enough bed space for up to 18 people.

There are 14 individual beds (including pullout sleepers), and most are queen size, so anyone that comes as a couple can share. If everyone were couples, I could sleep 22.

<- Used to camping, could sleep on floor if need be. Hell, floors are more comfortable than some things I've camped on.

Whether it would be unpopular or not, it's what has to be done. It's too difficult to cook, clean and supply that many people at a time. I think the most we could manage would be about 12 people a day (including the hosts). This year there were just too many dishes to clean up after and things like that.

Like I said, nothing has been decided, but we tried packing the house full and it didn't work out as well as we had hoped. We'll see what happens though. :)
