The State of Real Life Forums
The State of Real Life Forums
Martin Blank and denizens of RLF,
The state of the forums is bad.
It is a place steeped in cynicism. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. And those image macros. MY GOD!!! Will they stop? Scuttle the ship. Burn the farm. Scorch the earth. Take a few of the forumites of good breeding and repopulate. Plant the seed of a new forum which will not be hit by misled "real life forum" google searches -- yet threads of such ignorance will not be met with chastisement and hostility... but with open and loving arms... and acumen the Internet has never known. Images of bunny rabbits and cats draped across computer peripherals should also be plentiful.
I nominate myself for ark duty, sir!
Godspeed,
Your loyal servant and distinguished pedigree,
kaiju01

To be honest, I've seen the forums at a much lower point before in the past, and even then it was not the worst of what I have seen in a forums online by a long shot.
Actually, outside of noticing that there is little activity, I can't really say anything bad about the current state of the forums. The lack of activity slight confuses me, I remember it thriving back in ye olden days, but I merely assume that most of us have jobs, school, and lives, and do not live online 24/7, always ready with a witty and breath taking reply to every post ever made.
Which is probably a good thing, as a forum full of 24/7 posters would be very... scary.
But no, outside of a flame war or two I've seen in General Chat, this place is very mellow. A little tepid, but mellow. Like a cooling mug of grandma's tea. Only we can't go around stuffing other forumites into a giant blender and making tea out of them because that would be considered cannabalism. And eating other people is bad manners.

Re: The State of Real Life Forums
I can't see anything really wrong with the forums. Though I do agree it's annoying having emos stumble upon the forums because of the name.

You are all sick and wrong in the head.
And nobody better eat me. This isn't one of those types of forums.

I DENY ALL KNOWLEDGE OF THIS THREAD OF WHICH YOU SPEAK!!!

Gravity is now referring to herself in mostly the first person. That means something about the state of the forums, but I'm not entirely sure what.

(Welcome back, BTW.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the forums work in cycles.
At the moment, they seem to be running a little slow, and some days I have absolutely no interest in what's going on.
I agree, to a certain extent, about the image macros killing conversation but unfortunately a lot of people seem to enjoy them.
But, all is not lost. Just like Scottish weather - if you don't like what you have, just wait a while.
